Father Prince, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate these deep analyses. You always seem to allow me (maybe encourage me?) to interpret songs in a different way. Thank you once again, Father.

This is a beautiful way of finishing the series of ten songs. I don't know if Neil Peart intended this to be the final song on the final album, but it is highly apt. I think Peart may have had a double meaning in the phrase "It's a measure of a life" at the end. A measure is the term often used for a serving of a drink, so a measure of a life could refer to the time one is given; your measure, your alloted time to consume.

We are finally at the end of this journey. Clockwork Angels is my second favorite album by Rush. There isn't much more I can say. Clockwork Angels is a concept album, it is grandiose in its music. The story it tells has been told many times, I think, in different media, but it is well woven. Peart keeps surprising me. There were many songs I would have liked to see analyzed, but with Rush, the amount of great songs is immeasurable. I hope people were encouraged to dig deeper into Rush's repertoire.

I began my Rush journey as a 12 year old and have been a die hard fan ever since, I will be 54 this year. This song is beautiful and a fitting ending for an incredible career. Since Neil’s death I cannot listen to this song without getting a tear in my eye.😢

Not sure if you’re familiar with the other songs on this album, but you mentioned- letting everything else besides love and respect be- is a theme in another song on this album called “Wish Them Well”. Pretty cool track

So we have come to the end of this journey. The swan song of RUSH, the song which has moved me the most and probably always will. This song has it all: Geddy's emotional vocals, Alex' beautifully subdued solo, Neil's lyrical ode to Voltaire, gorgeous strings and lovely piano bits. Such a long way from Working Man and Fly by Night. :) I have to admit that the studio albums after Counterparts left me underwhelmed: Test for Echo was bland with just a few good songs, Vapor Trails was better but suffered from bad sound quality and Snakes and Arrows somehow also failed to impress me. But then Clockwork Angels saw the light of day and it was love at first hearing. Their live output (Rio, R30) was excellent, even exceptional by the way. During the last years I have had to witness my mother suffer from a wasting, incurable disease. And lately my wife has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. As such I reflect a lot on death. And it is in The Garden where I find some solace (also Nightwish's The Greatest Show on Earth). For whatever happens to us, we have to get up on our feet, smile at the face of death and despair ... and tend our gardens. Pay the price... and do not count the cost. One final link. You might have all seen the induction and acceptance speeches (blah blah!) from the Rock and Roll Hall 2013 ceremony. I'd like to bring kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z4GMq5JsXdS4hZM.html to your attention. Thank you, Guylain, for your work on these videos. Looking for more!
