The Overlord possessing Garmaddon was one of the creepiest things I saw as a kid, and despite the animation for the Overlord transformation being a bit rough for the time, it's still a compelling and emotional moment to watch Lloyd lose his father. Garmmaddon is honestly a really tragic character. The man had his humanity stolen from him and is forced to fight his son to the death, and his former wife is forced to trick him and use his emotions against him in an understandable attempt to stop him. Not to mention, he believes there is no hope for him. Despite how much he doesn't want to fight his son or how much Lloyd thinks he can still be good, Garmaddon's corruption from the Devourer's venom took his free will and hope to be better away, leaving him open to falling for the Overlord's manipulation. I love the impending stakes for this season and how the build-up to the final battle truly feels grand and epic since this season was expected to be the end of the show.

Yeah and you can’t help but see similarities with Star Wars: Overlord - Emperor Garmadon being Vader/Anakin (venom being the power to save Padme/dark side from Star Wars) Loyd - Luke Misako - Padme (if she lived)
in case y'all didn't know, this season was supposed to be the end for the show, but it was so loved that they had to make a new season

Actually the dark lord that was written in the scroll was not Garmadon, it was the Overlord. And you will love the finale of season 2. It’s really epic.

It's interestin seeing you make theories, with knowing, that there are many more seasons, because when the episodes aired, it was supposed to be the end of the show season, but they made more 😂 (and they're even more fire) I remember watching Garmadon lose himself after all, and being tricked was really heartbreaking at the first time. You can see him still having some hope inside of him, and it gets taken away.
23:13 is definitely one of the funniest things i’ve seen in ninjago. that stone general just being launched only to get jumped by kids 😂😂
