Mammma mia. Espectacular

Can someone please explain to me WHY this wonderful sport is not part of the Summer Olympics? You have that silly sport of sitting on a mat twirling flags, yet not skating like this! This takes 100 times more athletic ability than flag twirling! Makes absolutely no sense!!! My theory is that ice skating associations do not want roller skating as part of the Olympics because it takes much of the spotlight off them. Have you ever watched pair figure skating? It is every bit as beautiful and athletic as what they do on ice! It's shameful that this sport is not part of the Summer Olympics!!!

They’ve changed the scoring system and technical routines and requirements over the years so it’s more in line with how ice is marked to make it more appealing for the Olympic committee to consider, so fingers crossed it’ll happen one day🤞🏼

@@beepisbean6130 My sister and I did "freestyle" pair (roller) skating back in the 1970s, and back then they were saying it would one day be in the summer Olympics, but it has never happened. We used to make fun of ice-skaters, too, because what we were doing was much more advanced than what we would see on ice. As one example, the out-side forward camel spin. The out-side forward camel spin we did was much, much faster than when ice-skaters did it! We used to laugh at how slow ice-skaters would do it. Even novice roller-skaters did it faster than what you see Olympic ice-skaters do. And especially when women would do it, it was much more beautiful than I've ever seen an ice-skater do. Not only was it much faster, but their position was much more stretched out. It was thrilling to see compared to that slow ugly thing the women do on ice. It's absolutely shameful this sport is not in the summer Olympics!
