Hi, can you do another audio of the police one with call sign TJ Hooker! I liked that. You could do a whole series with that, introduce a series of crimes and busts, sometimes they get away or make bail and hide. You and your officer eventually become detectives and discover most of the crime is leading back towards a shadowy organization inside the city or some such thing. Like a cyberpunk theme, back alley meetings with informants, a dead end warehouse raid... you could do anything. Just food for thought.

I'm only 5 min in, but I'm really enjoying how the writing gives the story some complexity and tension, before soothingly resolving each little question of whether you'll be allowed in. Along with the worldbuilding, it creates enough intrigue to draw you in, but not so much as to stress you. And your wonderful voice, with the softness and clear explanations, ties this all together of course. edit: gonna go with Gift of the Mother Spider

I have a question that I hope won't sound impertinent. Where does "Welcome in" come from? I've been hearing it (and "Welcome on in") from online content creators, and I'm interested in knowing where they got it. I've never seen this construction in a book, movie, or TV show, but maybe it came from something I don't know about. I'm interested in linguistics, and one of the focuses of my interest is English language change on the internet.

It’s a polite greeting. Indicating pleasure and approval at the new arrival’s presence. That this space they are entering is not one they should feel uneasy with. The host (or whoever is receiving the visitor) wants them to feel comfortable. A form of greeting far older than the internet, at least in English. But I would bet other languages have an equivalent. Hope this helps!
