Michael Sheen is just an incredible actor. He can do everything from straight action, supernatural horror to comedy.

I always liked Wesley, he’s the only one of Liz’s boyfriends that could match her for wit and sarcasm. Liz’s defining characteristic is that she sees the worst in everyone and can’t help but judge them on it. Wesley is her only boyfriend that matched her in that way.

I saw that as the point of their relationship.. he's too similar to her, pretty much a mirror image. It could never work because she needed the opposite, someone optimistic that sees the best in people.
