Luke 1:68-75New King James Version (NKJV)
68 “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel,
For He has visited and redeemed His people,
69 And has raised up a horn of salvation for us
In the house of His servant David,
70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets,
Who have been since the world began,
71 That we should be saved from our enemies
And from the hand of all who hate us,
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers
And to remember His holy covenant,
73 The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:
74 To grant us that we,
Being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
Might serve Him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
"... By the fear of the LORD men depart from evil." (Proverbs 16:6) "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil..." (Proverbs 8:13) "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me..." (John 14:21) "And this is love, that we walk after his commandments..." (2 John 1:6)
Love, fear and obedience - when it comes to walking with God, they all mean the same thing. In the past I have preached on love for God, the fear of God and obedience to God, as if they were three different aspects of our relationship to the Lord. But I am learning now that these three are inseparable that you cannot practice one without the other two:
You cannot love God without having the fear of God in you. You cannot love Him without obeying His Word. And you do not truly fear God unless you love and obey Him.
Ask yourself: What is your motivation for gaining victory over lusts, passions and besetting sins? For obtaining holiness, godliness and purity of heart?
Some teach that only the fear of God provokes believers to flee lusts. They quote these biblical passages: "Destruction and misery are in their ways: and the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes" (Romans 3:16-18). "Fear the Lord, and depart from evil" (Proverbs 3:7). "The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death" (Proverbs 14:27).
Scripture says the early church was edified by "walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 9:31) And Jeremiah said sinful Israel didn't follow God with all their heart because they didn't fear Him: "My fear is not in thee" (Jeremiah 2:19).
....
Love is not merely an emotion or an affection for Christ. It cannot be fully shown just through worship or preaching. And it can't be measured by emotions. Many Christians can sit in church and feel great emotion, crying out to God and weeping and then walk straight out of the church and disobey God. Jesus says that's not loving Him!
About
David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.
David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

David Wilkerson's sermon on (The Last Adam) really blessed me to. It opened my eye's that you must trust God for everything, in everything, no matter what is happening in your life. I praise God for the last adam (Jesus) Yes i know i have no power because in my on strength to fight my sin's would be like fighting a fifty foot giant. There is only one way and that is through the supernatural power of the holy spirit. But a person has to want his help, choose his help because God gave us a free will. And i want the help of god's holy spirit.

Jesus is coming soon! The people are waking up to the reality of that, or I am most hopeful that they are. Pray that you and everyone you know be found worthy of the Lamb. This preacher was truly annoited, that's why he lived under a microscope. He spoke a level of truth that no other preacher would dare to compete with for the fear of less popularity, decreased revenue, and or blacklisting from the public. His lifestyle was the definition of fearlessness because he had a huge target in his back for being so honest, yet it did not stop his authentic shepherding of Gods flock.

I typed it in and also had my bible and went to every scripture he was reading and found it to be true. He is not like a lot of preacher's who just Say's anything. He really Read's the word of god and ask you if you don't believe follow him in the bible and read it for yourself. And i did that and every scripture he was reading was exactly what the bible said. It's true brother.

Yeah I just want to let you know I've been going through that as well. Just horrible, awful thoughts rush through my head- it's meant to throw you off of focusing on God and His Word. It's an attack of the enemy and a type of spiritual warfare. I'd read the Bible and just get overwhelmed by a sense of fear. But God doesn't give us fear, He gives us peace, strength, joy and a sound mind! Ask Jesus to take away the bad thoughts- just seek Him out and ask Him and keeping asking Him until things change. Pray when you feel overwhelmed, just cry out to God to rescue you and He will. It's very important to read the Bible- Jesus tells us it's more important than bread. I'd recommend praying before you read the Bible, asking God to help you keep focused, asking God to give you the words that you need, and then read it. Psalms often lift up my spirits and help me get into the Bible better, so I think it would be a good idea if you start your Bible reading session with a Psalm or two. I know this comment is from a year ago, but I couldn't help but respond, especially since I've been through this too. I pray God blesses you and keeps you, and that things have improved since then.

Rat Cat you should ne reading the word of god. Not saying david is wrong but we will always come across a wold in sheep clothing and reading the word of god shows us what to look for and what to stay away from. Its good you listen to david but just read and remember confusion doesnt come from god. Ask the holy spirit to help you with the scriptures he will help. But i do understand about being confused with the bible but i chose not to be confused and i allowed the holy spirit to show me. Now dont get me wrong i do still get a little confused but god always shows up either with a revelation or confirmation.

Found sheep. Matthew 10:28 Jesus taught us this do not fear man for man can only kill the body. But fear Him who can kill both soul and body in hell. In Christ Jesus I love you. God is Love and He resides in us 1 Corinthians 3:16. Attempting to gracefully let you know God knows our hearts and He loves us so much He has every hair on our heads numbered. Perfect Love casts out fear. Jesus holds every tear in the palm of His hand.
