Nowadays we tend to complain about every new car that comes out, although some of the complaints are justifiable, like the C63s now coming with a 4 cylinder instead of a V8, some are somewhat senseless.
The Mark 8 Golf GTI is every bit as great as previous Golf GTIs, it's smarter, more powerful, and more comfortable. It's just as fun, just as good sounding, arguably better sounding than its predecessors.
Spending time with one made me realise how good it actually is, this double persona it has is just fascinating, and I can't imagine anything else that will manage to offer everything it offers into one package like it does.

I got mine the beginning of the month. It’s an amazing car, smooth powerful and fuel efficient somewhat lol still getting use to the touch buttons though

Friend of mine own this! It has been at VW for 5 months now waiting for a part to come from Germany… something when you press the accelerator the car won’t drive past 60 kph

Never get the first edition of any new model. Wait for the face lift, lesser defects.

Agree, the interface is very easy. All the complaints are so silly. I’m 60 years old. It took me 2 days to get the most important stuff. I’m still learning stuff like short cuts, favorites, and stuff like that. But it has been only 2 days.

I still would go for the 7.5 R or 7 GTI, more beautiful in my opinion and has more KW. Never buy a first edition of a performance hatchback, wait for a facelift or a year or two before buying it so that you dont experience electronic issues that VW cant even fix😒
Had mine for the past 5 weeks now the infotainment sucks balls compared to the previous Gen 7.5 GTI

2:14 I’ve picked up mine two weeks ago. It does about 10L-11L / 100km mostly city but I do drive it like a gti ;)
