Thanks for the update, and sharing your family's loss. It's hard to fathom the source of unhelpful and ignorant remarks regarding chemo and cancer. I had the dumbest things said to me during treatment. Your grandma had a wonderful outlook and attitude. Unfortunately, not all have her tolerance and strength. I wish you peace and acceptance like your grandma's.

@@katiejohnson8534 Thank you - I had my surgery in Feb 2020 and 4 rounds of chemo April> and my CT scan after 3rd round of carbo/taxol came back NED and CA125 normal at 23. I had fourth and final round carboplatin only as the chemo gave me bad peripheral neuropathy. This has now resolved and just been on 11 day holiday to Turkey to see an old precious friend I thought I might never get to see again. I also celebrated my 72nd birthday out there. It was fantastic and am grateful to have had the opportunity to go and for everyday I wake and draw breath although the chemo left me with some SOBOE due to pulmonary fibrosis. I am now on 3-monthly reviews/watch and wait but on 14 day quarantine since returning to UK so will have to reschedule my CT scan booked for next week. I am well and I am happy so for those of you still on the journey always have hope and faith you can see off this disease. My prognosis was poor at just 15% for 5-year survival. My surprised oncologist thinks I have 3 more years plus or minus. I always thought why shouldn't `I be one of the lucky 15%? A strong positive mental attitude is IMO very important in defeating cancer.

Melanie Lofts I would not say rare, there are millions of people that don't vlog from all walks of life and culture who are survivors from final stages. GOD has the last say so in all of our lives, it was ordained before we even came here. In all things keep Faith. Give it to God and let him fight the battle. He gave us his only son, He loves us. So anyone who is reading this know that you are loved. When you're done remember to hug your kid the next time they walk past or give him a kiss on the cheek or love on your husband, your parents and enjoy this gift of life that we receive every day that we open our eyes. And don't forget to tell the Father thank you for those gifts. Stay blessed everyone.

Melanie Lofts One more thing Melody I feel that I should say. You obviously love someone very much that went or is going through a battle, and I like I said before no matter what we do when he is ready for us we go. young and old it happens every day, but our loved ones want us to be happy on Earth and in heaven. So if your loved one is no longer they want us to remember all the good times and if they are still here love on them as much as you can! Because every day is a gift ! God bless.

Have to agree. This is not typical. I fought stage 3c ovarian cancer and I am in remission 12 years. I had 2 types of chemo. The regular chemo in an iv in my arm and 1 wk later I'd be admitted overnight to the hospital for retroperitoneal chemo. The chemo was injected into a port in my abdomen and I was turned from side to side ( kind of a wash if you will). I also forgot to mention I had a complete hysterectomy prior to the chemo. But I was completely exhausted and my life was pretty much on hold for 5 months. But I'm still here and have had 0 recurrences. It is doable and possible to get through this. I had no dinners out and lost 35 lbs but there are medications that do help. It is possible and if I can do it I'm sure you can too.

I nearly died with each round. It is so toxic for the human body. The research says there are secondary cancers you will incur because of chemotherapy. No wonder she had breast cancer and now has ovarian cancer. Tragic. Im disappointed in my oncologist for withholding truth from me. Most people die from the treatment not the cancer. Its NOT a cure. Please please think twice before doing chemo or radiology. Both cause secondary cancers. God bless you all on your healing journey.
