As a cis female with endometriosis, I wish I could give Cori a hug for being so open about this illness as it can be very difficult to explain or be honest about because it can be such a taboo topic. The fact that he is also spreading awareness, and hopefully making people of the LGBTQA+ community who also have endo feel seen, is a step in the right direction (now if only doctors would get their act together and take endometriosis seriously). Thank you for sharing your story and being an advocate Cori.

I'm trans, and endo runs in my family. none of my doctors know I'm trans but I'm scared that if I get the medical problems that run deeply in my family like breast cancer and endo, then I won't be diagnosed, or I'll constantly be misgendered. I've been showing a few symptoms of endo in the past 3 years (as long as I've had my period actually) and I'm scared. My periods are so irregular but when they do come it's either perfectly normal or debilitating pain and heavy long periods. Alongside pain in my back, nausea, light-headedness, etc. I don't want to draw conclusions but I'm sitting at my desk crying cause I relate to this video so much, so uh....maybe I should tell my mom... she had to get a hysterectomy when I was young as she was at high risk for cervical cancer alongside her endometriosis. I'm not sure. She knows im trans, and supports me...i just wish medical issues were less gendered.

Endo affects all genders! One thing to note is that this video is wrong about what endo is. It's not uterine lining; it's tissue similar to the uterine lining, but it's not the same thing. That's a theory that has been debunked by endometriosis specialists. For anyone who wants more education on what endometriosis is and how to get proper treatment, check out nancy's nook endometriosis education.

As a woman who's been suffering from endo, for 35 years I understand all too well what it's like to live with excruciating pain 24/7/365. One of the main treatments for endo is Lupron (which is a MALE hormone originally used to treat prostate cancer in men) that puts the female body into menopause to halt the endometrial tissue/tumors/implants from growing & progressing, but it's only temporary and this drug wreaks havoc on the female body in the long term. - I wish my doctor had told me about the horrific side effects because I'm now suffering from many conditions including early onset osteoporosis, and still suffering from excruciating pain. I recently learned that Lupron is now being used (without formal FDA approval) as a puberty blocker on the increasing number of children and adolescents who are being diagnosed with "gender dysphoria" which is very troubling to me since I'm living proof of the worst effects of this drug, I cannot understand why any doctor would knowingly give this to a child/patient. Especially since the most recent studies show that HRT significantly SHORTENS the life expectancy. All this is being done with the support of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Endocrine Society - despite the fact there is ZERO evidence that such hormonal treatments actually benefit children and adolescents with gender dysphoria. Other complications related to the drug’s use include malignant tumors, cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and blood clots, suicidal behavior, severe weight gain, and other psychological disorders, brittle bones and painful joints, and sterility. So, anyone out there considering this drug should think long & hard and do extensive research before rushing into going on this or any other drug for that matter because despite what your doctor might tell you, these effects are NOT reversible. Like plastic surgery, these hormone treatments and/or GD 'affirmation' surgery are only a short term "fix" & once the initial 'euphoria' wears off, you'll be right back at square one & likely more depressed but now you'll be stuck this way forever. No matter what you might see online groups or doctors are saying. These people do NOT have your best interests at heart. All they care about is getting paid, so please try to talk to as many people as possible who have been through the process because every single person I know who transitioned are now miserable & in the process of switching back to gender assigned at birth, but sadly they'll never be able to fully go back to their previous selves.

Why? This person has had their uterus removed. This video was just emotional manipulated, but did nothing to help us understand why this is happening. What good does it do us to be aware of this if, being aware is all we are given? I would appear that this person is on testosterone...so what explains 'him' menstruating? Sad story none the less...makes me wonder if there should be awareness that a person's body is often not strong enough to go through transitioning and not come out in the end as a medical basket case.

iwatchkittenvids45 I know that you wrote this a long time ago so I’m going to allow for you having grown a little since then. I think as a general rule it is always better not to post comments on topics that you have zero knowledge. Endometriosis is an invisible disease. From the outside there is nothing to see. Even from the inside the surgeon cannot even guess how symptomatic a person is from seeing the endometriosis in their pelvis . A microscopic deposit on a nerve may be excruciating constantly and yet there are many women who have had an operation for something unrelated only to be told that their pelvis is covered in endometriosis. Therefore to pass judgement on someone’s level of pain or disability is not only ridiculous but cruel. Your comment about knowing people who haven’t had a hysterectomy made absolutely no sense. Hysterectomy is a last resort treatment for women with severe disease so of course it makes sense that your friend who hadn’t had one managed her disease better. But you could have found all this out from a quick google search and you wouldn’t then have had to leave an embarrassing response.
