You ok, great virtue signalling. Why dont you wake up and stop being woke. It costs on average $65000.00 a day to feed this crew. Do you know how many carriers the navy has? That amount of money just for food. I'm no hippy, I understand there is aggression in the world, we needed it and need it to survive, yet this is a fookin travesty joke concerning the amount of resources being spent, to kill each other. To hell with this and anyone supporting it. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much money its insane, and with this continued mentality, well we are as dead as the dinosaur and obviously we just dont know it. You are so naive saying all that money spent is to protect the sheeple lol. It costs $25000.00 for a 1 hour flight time of an F18. These are just to costs Im giving an example of, can you fathom the grosssss amount of money involved here in military expenditure, world wide? So much money spent on killing each other, instead of fixing the worlds problems. FUCKKK THIS...V

No offense, but how are they protecting you??? Let's be honest: all those guys are on an insanely expensive ship because your country can afford it. Everything else is simply propaganda. Nobody is attacking the US, so then don't have to protect you from anybody.

Served pre communit on CVN plank owner still in the shipyards when I got on! Was lucky one of only 6 guys in unit got rack number 2 a middle rack. Since the other guys were all married and had their families in apartments. When ship went coed they switched our compartment for ladies only since it was centrally located but that happened after I did 4 years and had the GI BILL! Got to see Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Israel, Masirah, Diego, GITMO, Bahamas, St Thomas, and Singapore. Flew to Philippines, Okinawa, Alaska and Travis AFB to be processed out, They would not let us out of their site! Budweiser at Diego had a couple but others drank too much so just a little bit of trouble! I could never stand the colt 45 and PBR they served. Missed out on Australia due to emergency! Make sure you see the world I took some of the tours too. Have a career or school choice when you get out. I only miss Magens Bay! We always seemed to head south when winter started up! Good Luck!

Your video was simple, good volume, steady camera, up and down decks...just a simple, yet very good video. You make it look so easy, as it should be. Your fortunate to have the top bunk, the bottom bunk looks like it sucks. Take care! -Peace

You learn to do it, and everyone is in literally the same boat. That’s where that term comes from. But those bunks are like your private space, they have curtains, you really do get used to it. And that is your space no one can go in it. In a place that doesn’t have a lot of space, is constantly being used, and is occupied by thousands of people, having your own space, even if it’s just a bunk, means a lot

I remember we had one guy from North Carolina who wore these nasty white socks while sleeping. I know I walked through berthing area after watch and you could smell them about 15 feet away fortunately we lived way back in the corner. About 2 hours later Man overboard sounded and we headed up to muster! The guy with the smelly socks complained someone had stole his socks off his feet! We then figured out what went overboard!

When I served in the Navy (84-88) if someone stunk so bad and refused to shower or wash their clothes they would get a shower party. Case closed and they never let themselves get that bad again. The chief would see them the next morning at muster and just smile knowingly.

I was deployed on the Coral Sea and when they took me to the berthing and gave me the bottom rack next to the crappers , totally sucked then after two weeks was sent down to the mess decks for 3 mounts. Just some of the stuff they don’t tell you. It did get better as people left and I got more of a choice .

Surprised that berthing had so many racks like yours. Depending on which carrier it is, it may be because that was an overflow breathing at one time, and it was turned into a female birthing since theres no head on that level for it. USN OSC SW Ret

Shipmate, this is way more room than we got on submarines. I was STS3(SS) on the USS Florida SSBN-728 (since converted to SSGN) and USS Asheville SSN-758 in 1999 to 2003! And, junior enlisted berthing was a series of bunkrooms, each the size of an office cubicle, that each held nine men! Three forward, three aft, three amidships. There was also a little container with about one cubic foot of space for each person. Officers also had staterooms the size of an office cubicle but only had to share it with one or two other officers (depending on how many officers were aboard at the time). There are women now, I never served with women but always supported the idea. Starting in 2008, they first let on officers, then senior enlisted, now any woman can join. 🙂 (I would assume they would reserve however many bunkrooms need to be reserved for women only.) There's actually a female submarine officer who is now an astronaut! LCDR Kayla Borron! She was on the ISS for I think six months or a year! 🙂 She said her time on submarines helped prepare her for space. 🙂 Anyway TYFYS 🙂

Hello Monique, amazing video to see the life onboard, this is Sergio, aerospace engineer with KZread channel about all that stuff, few months ago NATO invited me to USS George W Bush and now I am making all the content about it. There is one video I want to crerate about the life onboard and was wondering if I could use some pieces of this video, of course I would put credits to your channel on the screen while showing the pieces. Thanks very much for the content

Although France's lone carrier and the UK's 2 new carriers are smaller than American carriers, they have nicer, more spacious berthings. I think that on the Queen Elizabeth, the racks are in dorm-style rooms with a small degree of privacy.

Thank you for serving, shipmate! Joining the Navy was the best thing I ever did, well, next to marrying my wife and becoming a Christian, but I met my wife and rededicated my life to Christ in the Navy. You'll never regret this, I hope, though I know everyone's experience is different. Where I was, we were in hazardous duty stations in the 80s and my rate, OTA, was the only place women could serve where they might have to fight. I was in the Ground Defense Force in Iceland (Naval Infantry) and my squad was all females in a fighting hole and we always won. 😂 they were kick ass! I know it's been a year but I hope your career is going good.

I SPENT MANY A NIGHT ON A CARRIER BUILT IN 1945,THIS IS THE MOST BERTHING I COULD HAVE HOPED FOR. WWII type racks and one chair for fifty men was the norm. New sailors have it much better now. That was fifty years ago.Retired Chief 1980. Freedom is not free.
