Also found this song from the Sopranos, and like a pleb watched the series before the movie came out. Despite being a huge HBO connoisseur, constant hype about the show, it took me to meet a huge Sopranos nerd who could quote the show like I could Always Sunny to finally sit and watch the show, movie be damned. I was worried it was all the downfall of some Mafiaoso but it's so much more. Anyways, then I matched this song to an Age of Empires 4 beta vid and that's where I began to love it. Not only is it apt to a people rebeling against a crown but people treading the line to succeed and it's great

Prepare yourself, make a cup of something nice!😂 She doesn't choose anything, and that's what adds to it. She never chose anything, she never had a say, but never seemed to care that much, likely for her lack of self worth. This is a pretty good depiction of the kind of girl that would find themselves in her line of work, especially that young. It's the last song she would pick if she'd a choice of course, a real whiskey drinker ballad, yet she dances happily to it as if oblivious to it, and it's deeper meaning, which leans on the meaning of the song. That meaning being the loss of dignity, the loss of self, national pride and shared identity. In order to understand it you must view the song through Tony's lens. Tony felt what this song conveys, as if he was hearing this song on repeat every time he saw her. He felt like he'd let society down being apart of the system that allowed her to be turned out, and she became an outlet for him to right some of his wrongs using her as a vessel. Tony at the back of it all was a father figure, a family man with real old school values, and didn't feel good about being part of mistreating a delicate girl that never deserved her circumstances and came to him for help. She only saw the good in Tony, and that's love to a man, and he felt for her because of it. Again not to mention the song speaking on the question of losing our society and values. Remember the opening scene of the Sopranos... It's Tony speaking on how he views society, nobody cares about anything any more, nobody sticking up for what's right or what they believe in, and that's Tony through and through, he's a real man, yes as well as a murderous sociopath but that's a given!😄 Even just the tune of the song as she sways and dances to it, it's so routine, the song on the surface sounding casual and catchy, but with that sad meaningful undertone ringing out, that should speak to the concern you might have looking at the indecency of what's happening to this young girl in society and how it's wrong. So for those reasons I would completely disagree. That episode is possibly my all time favourite in all of television.
