Fun Fact: my mom had no idea we had a social media account until about 3 months ago. One day out a lunch, a random group of people started yelling "IT'S THAT CHEAP GUY!" and asked to take pictures. And ya, I am still trying to prove to my mom that I am funny...baby steps.

Already raised up the standards for Asian comedians not using self depreciating jokes. Also: "because we have full-time jobs and live a simple life we have the luxury to choose which brand we want to work with" it's so humble compared to other influencers and tiktokers. The couple makes everything genuine.

I’m impressed with the diversity of professions he’s had. He played a sport professionally, started his own company in the hardware/software space, and is now producing profitable social media videos. It’s rare to see someone successfully reinvent themselves so many times.
So down to earth and great sense of humor. Wishing him and his wife the best, congratulations on the baby! Love that you chose to be frugal from your private highschool experience vs being superficial and trying to "compete" on things that don't matter like flashy logos, cars or dumb things that don't really bring value into someone's life.

But I always thought Bitcoin is something you just hold on to no matter if it's going up and down. @@RT-. Google Bitcoin halving cycles. It's built into Bitcoin to halve the supply every 4 years. And the price will rise and fall within those cycles
I was checking out their budget pie chart. Being able to live with mom saves them tons of money. No need to worry about mortgage, home insurance, property taxes, maintenance or repairs!

Sounds like an awful way to live.
I used to think that an adult child should not live at home. But now I'm a father and given the cost of housing I've changed my mind. No son or daughter of mine is going to be a permanent renter. You see a lot of young people in the bay area with good incomes but no assets. $120k a year in bay area is just ok.

I live in San Jose my income is 130k and it blows my mind that it’s just enough for me my wife and daughter I heard a total house income in the Bay Area less then 150k is low income so I’m guessing I’m low income lol

I'm 28 and moved back in to start saving. My folks are fine with it. You're making the right decision. What worked in the 70s no longer works in 2021. I would absolutely be a permanent renter.

I agree but I do believe in children paying a bit of rent. If you let them live rent free completely then they get used to their full salary as disposable. If you are making 120k, you could contribute 500 to rent to your parents and then use the rest to pay off loans or save up for a house of your own.
Jay & Sharon are the coolest people. They seem really down to earth & it’s really cool they share their journey with viewers.
With a mindset like that, he's on his way to being a millionaire.

Just for clarity, a friend of mine lives in Sunnyvale, his rent for a one bedroom 500 square foot house is $2500 per month, utilities including trash, electric and gas, and water is about $600.

The most important thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks, Gold, silver and digital currencies.

i’m 23 and living with grandparents now, i was living on my own with my ex in california and i was dirt broke, working three jobs to pay my rent and going to school to full time, thank u for being honest Jay, now i don’t feel as bad living with family, im able to travel, im trying to save money i just have a few expenses… but thanks for the inspo!

Im working and still living with parents here in Southeast Asia too. Helps a lot especially during the pandemic. My parents wanted me to have certain responsibility so instead of rent, I pay them some money in the form of allowance and I pay for the internet too.

There is one family of expenses that this man does not have to worry about which makes living in Sunnyvale (not a cheap place to live by any means) a comfortable experience. The guy lives with his mom. He has no rent, mortgage, or any other expense around home ownership / home leasing. 120k is a fantastic salary, but is really not that much when living anywhere near Silicon Valley.

By having his company pay for his car, not having any rent, and not having any student loans because he got D1 scholarships, this guy has basically hacked the system. He barely has any bills. If he doesn’t get there through equity/sale of his company and if crypto doesn’t crash, he should be very rich very soon. Good for him. I make around the same amount as him but we have VASTLY different lifestyles, career goals, and investing strategies

@@riskbusin3ss His parents subsidized his ability to take risks and on these ventures. Even now, his parents sustain his lifestyle to allow him to absolve his highest expense in Silicon Valley, housing. Large part of his success came from his parent’s grind.
