I think the best place for families who want safety and can leave their house at midnight and early morning without to worry, affordable and not so far from the center actually practically in the center is Bromma, it’s safe family vibes super into nature and great things to do there
Thank you so much for making very informative videos like this, as very usefull for us. Thanks alot

I think Kungsholmen (where I live) is also a good area in central Stockholm. It’s an island with nice walks along the water.

Oh, did I even forget to mention Tyresta Nationalpark? I even included a picture from there 😅 Thanks for the reminders! I even still have to check out Rudans friluftsområde myself 🙌
I grew up in Östermalm, it has been a rather posh area for a long time (it was a poor part of town originally though). I'm very upset you mentioned Nacka (and even Älta) and Haninge, but not Tyresö in-between. 😛 Well, not really, but still - much like Haninge, but smaller. We share the Tyresta National Park between us. Main "problem" is the complete reliance on busses for commuting, so in case of a blizzard we are isolated out here. Those living in Älta most often go grocery shopping in Tyresö as it is only a few minutes off. Was born here, and have been living here now for 25 years.

How could I forget Tyresö?! It's a great area as well. We looked at houses there, too.
Thanks for sharing! How long is the commute time from Haninge to central stockholm?
@LivingSwedish
Жыл бұрын
It depends where in Haninge you live but anything from 30-60 min. If you live in Vega there is a direct line to central Stockholm, for example. For me, it takes about 45-50 min as I have to take a bus to the train station first.

Great video. Very informative. I want to purchase a affordable home of 4 bedrooms not so far from Stockholm of like 40 minutes drive max. Which areas do you advise?

I can recommend you looking at Hemnet. There's a map where you can see the whole of Sweden. Look around there, you can add filters.
I grew up on Östermalm and now I live in Solna. The former is very much a white collar part of town and the latter is a blue collar part of town. Very different from each other but both are very pleasant places to live. Östermalm is very expensive though. When my family moved from that apartment it was still a rental. About a year later it became a condominium with a price tag of 10.000.000kr.

Solna is also white collar. For blue collar you need to go to Järfälla.

Hi Uli, may I ask how dear is living in a flat in Sweden? do they pay a monthly charge to the Housing Association on top of the mortgage? Also it seems like they pay some operating costs per year...
@LivingSwedish

I'm not 100% sure but I see monthly fees for apartments everywhere on Hemnet. I live in a radhus and I also pay a community fee.
Solna is also a good area to live in

How are the crime rates in Sweden, more specifically in the South of Sweden? I read crime is happening more often that's why i'm asking.

What makes a neighborhood considered “expensive?”

When you look at house prices compared to average wage you know how affordable or expensive an area is.

A late comment! Yeah, even sweden is a stratified country.. even if we is kind of proud of our "equality"! However there still is people that earn more then others in sweden, by heretige, education, entrepeneurship.. a lot of reasons! In anyway.. where to live.. yeah, one often want to live where others in the same situation as one self lives, becuse one share the same social and economic situation.. often altso political wievs! Its there that both "Jante" and "Lagom" comes in.. and I only gonna focus on the good part of those! Is it importante to live in an expencive area or is it importante that ones children can roam freely to neighbours place in a townhouse/condomium/apartment.. area?

Hate to give this video thumb down! Usually I love your videos. This one lack CC so I don't get anything of what you say because I'm deaf. Hatar att ge den här videon tumme ner! Vanligtvis gillar jag dina filmer! Den här saknar CC så jag får inte ut något av den för jag är döv.

Hi there, Thanks for the feedback! I just looked into this video and I could watch it with CC. It's usually automated so I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. I can definitely see that it is frustrating. I will check my future videos if they have automated subtitles. Thank you and have a great day!

@@LivingSwedish It works now! Great!
As said before, i grew up in Handen. Handens bad rep comes from 1967 when 3 cops was shot dead in Handen centrum. Brandbergen wasnt the best neighborhood until the 90s when they renovated the area and almost bankrupted Haninge kommun in the process. But now its nothing wrong with it. Jordbro has never been a good area and still isnt...
Södermalm has never been multicultural, it's one of the most homogeneous areas of Stockholm.
All areas in Stockholm are bad ;) i would never ever move to Stockholm.
