I live in Dallas I moved here when I was like 10. But my dad had a job opportunity to be in Atl,Dallas or Houston. And I was glad it was Dallas it is more family oriented Vs Houston . Houston reminds me of New Orleans vibe party all the time.

I’m from NJ and moved to Dallas a year ago. I had a hard time decided between Houston and Dallas but it came down to career opportunities and it seemed like Dallas had the edge. I actually was able to work remote on my job I had in NJ when I moved here so I was fortunate. But I always wonder “what if” when it comes to Houston so I’m looking forward to watching this video!

Houston is better.

Just moved to Htown and everything you’ve said about Houston is very accurate 😂! The influence our culture has on the city is what drew me to loving Houston. I’m still adjusting to the appropriators but it’s a great city. I like Dallas too.....

I recently moved to Dallas from NYC and like you said cost of living is MUCH cheaper with BIGGER square footage. I’m currently in Plano but will be moving downtown Dallas because I still miss the city vibes 😩

I actually settled in Frisco when I moved to Dallas since I’m a “suburb girl” and I love it here! It’s very family friendly and so much to do for kids in general I agree with you there!

I love Dallas. It's very well spread out, very diverse, Industrial and very modern . Great opportunities, and entertaining night life. I visit Houston from time to time and enjoy it as well, but Team Dallas all the way!

I was in Houston for grad school and I loved it. Lots of free/cheap entertainment options and the food...chile the food! SO GOOD! Miller outdoor theater has concerts and performances and you can bring your wine and food and sit outside and watch for free. All of the major musical acts go there. You can drive to NOLA in about 8 hours if you need to get away. Definitely hit up the Breakfast Klub for brunch (thank me later) and buy a dehumidifier for your apartment cause Houston gets literally steamy. Enjoy!! You'll love it

Those are the exact reasons why i chose Dallas that Hurricane i think back in 2017 in Houston made me think twice.

@@Firebombv yes there are places to turn up in Dallas they just aren’t as easy to find like they are in Houston. Houston is a 3-4 hour drive from Dallas so not too bad for a weekend getaway.

Lol I just had this conversation with my friend today. I'm from/live in Dallas but I go to Houston any weekend I get a chance. They are so relaxed and have a whole vibe when you go out. There are tons of things to do and places to eat. Here in Dallas people just go out and look upside each other's head lol. We are so stuffy here. But I wouldn't dare move to Houston. Cross a bridge and you will find an entire dilapidated neighborhood with no future in sight. I had to subscribe! Beautiful lady!

I’ll be coming up on my one year living in Dallas well the McKinney area. Originally from Ohio. I’ve always loved it here I’ve lived here for a hot second in 2009-2010 but I would always come back to visit from 2016-19. It’s something Special about this place that I can’t describe the people here are more friendlier and easy going. I’ve never been down to Houston yet but I heard the food is 🔥. I visited Dallas recently - and was blown away at how much I’ve loved the experience. I’ve always loved HTX too - I’ve visited so much that it’s like a second home to me. In both cities, I’ve found the people to be kind and friendly while also minding their business. Where I’m from, everyone wants to be in each other’s business even if we’re not friends - and this is precisely why I wanna move lol.

I’ve been in Houston almost 9 years. All these years I’ve been hearing Dallas is more expensive than Houston. I was confused though because I’ve been seeing videos of newly built houses and condos in Dallas and they’re more square feet for the same price as the ones in Houston. Houston’s cost of living has about doubled since I moved here!

Can I just say your Dallas vs. Houston video was better than all these realtor Dtx vs. Htx videos on KZread. You were completely non biased and pretty spot on all throughout the video. I live in Houston (East Texas raised) and prefer Houston culture over Dallas myself. But the older I get the more I lean towards DFW. With DFW’s more diverse economy, more family friendly options, better traffic, less flooding...DFW is hard to ignore.

I moved to Dallas from Chicago July 2018. I also have a lot of friends in Houston. You were on point with the comparisons especially about the black culture and how in HTX it’s more embedded. Coming from the South Side of Chicago, I definitely identify with HTX culturally. But for the reasons you shared , DTX is doing alright for me. Plus I’m in healthcare so I’m good no matter what. I started off in Cedar Hill but, currently I live in Las Colinas

Dallas has a lot of black culture as well it’s just a smaller city than Houston.

Speaking on the zoning part, Houston jumbles all commercial in one pot, and all residential in another, etc. So in one hood you'll have a mix of townhomes, midrises, and single family homes. Or for commercial areas you'll have a mix of places from tattoo parlors to restaurants. It def has it's pros and cons. There are also protections for people in single family homes not wanting to have a high-rise in their back yard. So some forms of zoning exist. Overall good review.

Honestly i visited both I like Dallas and Houston that’s kinda hard Houston by a slight edge tho

Ughhhhhh this video has me rethinking I been wanting to move to Houston for months flying out there in a week and now idk 😭😭😭😭 Dallas sounds like me

Houston sounds a lot like Atlanta. I’m thinking of moving to Texas next year.

@@briangoines7771 I stay in Houston and I have to agree from what I’ve seen Dallas is cleaner. But I will say I haven’t seen as many of the dirty areas in Dallas, as far as littering, overgrown grass, and cracks in the street goes
