For comparison….. todays prices Big island of Hawaii. 3-4 plots (1ac) 15,000us. Similar prices to Ghana Belize. 1plot $ 7-15,000 very low land tax My area west coast of Canada 1plot 200,000us$ land taxes are crazy high too! So I’m looking at Belize. Have a trip planned to see the coast and decide if I want to land bank for future place to retire. Thanks Mikey.

I’ve been preaching this for years that soon land won’t be easily obtainable in Ghana 🇬🇭 and Africa 🌍 as a whole. The more Ghana 🇬🇭 develops the more expensive land will become until the average price near the city will be 300k for one single plot.

Please be careful telling people to buy land and sit on it to make a profit later… that is the colonizer mindset and we should be trying to shift out of that. For example, Here in the US we have companies that are buying up all the single family homes making it hard for people to actually find homes to buy. We don’t need that when it comes to land in Africa. Please be responsible

  • @MickeyAgyei

It's been like that since I was born and still those who are discipline enough with their money, manage to buy properties all the time. I may be wrong but the good thing about land in Ghana is the fact that it's not controlled by the government. Making it accessible not only to big companies but individuals too. You just have to get your finances right and you can own one.

@@MickeyAgyei what I’m trying to say is just because that’s the way something has been doesn’t mean that’s the way it’s supposed to be. That’s all I’m saying. We def have to unlearn what we have been taught. I was lucky enough to buy my home before the pandemic and now prices for other people have tripled in the same homes if they are lucky enough to find one. We def don’t need people coming to Africa to bleed it dry with the colonizer mind set. Im looking forward to getting out of this rat race and living a peaceful like off the land in Ghana.

When it comes our African tradition, land is so sacred that the owners of the land hesitant to take money for it.They find it hard to put a price on it.Greed has taken over everything now, the land that you see now we're bought for close to nothing from the real owners of the land and are being sold by those greedy ones.Beware that even some agent taking you around might have added their owners cut to the price.A days ago, I saw a house being advertise for 1.4 million dollars at east legon.I wondered who they are trying to sell that house to.As time goes by there will be no nature in Ghana again, because the lure of big money has cause the cutting down of trees and the little greenery we have left.Nothing is being set aside for future generation. Our children will come to live in a concrete jungle.

I'd like to think the government and the planning people have that in their plans. Let's note that even the West are developing lands into residential properties all the time. We just have to also buy lands and preserve it for ourselves as farmlands.
