Hey I can second you with the water pressure. My most recent apartment in Finland has this shower that doesn't have enough pressure to rinse the sauna benches. My personal experiences about the insulation is, I had an apartment in a house built at 2003 and I could never hear anything other than coming through the balcony door. On the other hand now I have a 1997 built apartment where I hear almost nothing ever, except this neighbour who plays probably NHL and screams profanities to the full capacity of his lungs. And occasionally someone practicing oboe or some other woodwind instrument, which in turn is very pleasant as a musician myself. Also sorry about being the guy who plays electric guitar. Pretty happy about the insulation other than the gamer guy and it's more about the guy. Are there other seasons in britain than damp rain? Great to hear you've enjoyed living here. Always interesting to hear how Finland is from another perspective, you don't really think about all the things that are unique here.

I chose Daytona beach and after a year I gotta say it's the best decision I made in my life. My rent went from $1400 to $700 and I live on an island. There's only one disappointment. I thought the ocean that's 3 blocks away would be warm to swim in all year but it's only warm during the summer. So I'm gonna invest in a wetsuit 👍😁👍 and I'm learning how to surf this summer 👍😁👍 and I will visit Finland maybe this year 👍😁👍

I would like to one day live in Helsinki. I visited there and Tampere this year and loved it. Professionally I am a transportation planner in Virginia with a Graduate degree in urban and regional planning. I speak almost no Finnish. I have no idea if it's even possible to move there and get a job in that field making at least 75,000 euros (my current salary), but I just don't feel attached to anywhere in the US anymore. I definitely liked Finland more than Germany even though I speak German pretty well and studied there. I just don't know if I should start to learn the language if there is a doubt I won't land a career in the planning field at that salary.

I lived in Sweden almost 50 years ago (a year of folkhögskola). I was once told "everything the Swedes do the Finns do", which helps explain Suomi's close connection to Sverige. One of the things I learned very quickly to do was to take my shoes off once I entered someone's home, whether it was a house or an apartment. There was always a little wooden bench by the entrance door where you could sit and remove your shoes. From that point on you walked around in your stocking feet. I'm sure it helps limit the noise going down into the apartment below, otherwise you would hear the thump, thump thump of shoe heels hitting the floor. Even though I twice visited friends who lived in Itä Pakila I can't remember if the same custom is practiced in Finland, but since "everything the Swedes do the Finns do" I'm sure it is. Hej då, hei sitten!

Cat Peterson How about telling us what is most annoying things about Finland without saying every little personal thing. How about exploring Finland outside of Helsinki and Lappland. There are alot to see in Finland without setting your foot to any big tourist place or any of the biggest towns in Finland. How about you step out of your small comfort zone and stay out of any of the biggest towns or the biggest tourist places and do something you’ve never done and stay somewhere you have never been. And how about making some videos when you’re doing it and maybe even livestreaming. I haven’t even watched many of your videos but this video gives the impression that you will make your trip and just tell your viewers about it in your living room which is so cheap. Why not showing where you have been exactly by making videos at the scene and not just make a clean version about it when you get home. It shouldn’t be that much of work. If you want to minimize your work during your trip you can just film the footage and make some kind of video diary and then edit it all after your trip and comment about your videos if you think they need some commentary to be more enjoyable to watch. Just a hint. It would make your videos seem more real. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, you seem like a nice girl 🤷‍♂️

By the way, I wathced this like 8 month later, but still: I watched the entire video and ... you (should) know, my thoughs (as a Finn....) are: 1) Water Pressure (especially the hot water): Yes, I lived in Scotland for two years (as a Finn). 2) The electrical outlet in the bathroom: Yeah, you guys on the islands have fuses in the socets and in the appliances! It should not be that difficult. Still "you can't have an electrical output on your bathroom even if your shower is an electrical one...." ... yeah.. 3) Wall-to-wall-carpet ... :P 4) Electrict guitar ... yeah... Life in an apartment building. :) 5) The punching bag: Lucky you! That's I always (only) take the top floor apartment. :D 6) The publick transportation in Helsinki area (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, etc..) is great, please do not diss it like that. ;) 7) Come on ..it's the "Crazy Days" (hullut päivät) at Stockmann! :D 8) Yean, not every country speaks english... ;) 9) And you can still get the FOUR season in Finland (or other Northern Coutries). ;) 10) Yeah, Finland is such a strange country with long distances. :D (no Idea what the "thesis" is all about, I went through the commercial college) 11) Well yeah ... you do not need any "strong" opinions.. I've never heard of an apartment where you CAN'T hear neighbors. Haha, where did that illusion come? :D When moving you always wish that you don't get noisy teenagers, fighting couples, drunks or children in your building. Always a gamble, since you can hear everything. Really stressful. I'm lucky in my current apartment that I only have lonely older people who still can hear well (and don't need to watch the news at super high volume). We only have one noisy neighbor two floors down who is mentally impaired and sometimes yells/talks by himself. But that is nothing to me, I've never had it so well. As a new one to your videos, I was left wondering why did you think it was a luxury to borrow someones car in Finland? I'm sure that's not a Finnish thing? :D
