What about GObg buses for public transportation and WKU buses for students? You can’t miss them, however no one uses the GObg buses. Plenty of nightlife, Tiball’s, Capital Arts, etc. It’s not Nashville but Nashville is only an hour away.

You are completely right, I forgot to mention the Gobg transit buses! Also I know BG does have some nightlife but not as much as many people feel like it should for a city the size of Bowling Green. Like you said, Nashville is only an hour away so not a big deal.

I worked in Bowling Green for over 12 years. If you ask someone from Bowling Green, "Where is Bowling Green?" they'll tell you, "South Central Kentucky." Oh. And what's the name of the university down there? The answer: Western Kentucky University."

From what I understand they have no plans on getting rid of the drag strip. They have alot going on at Beach bend Park every year but the drag races are some of the biggest events.

I’m curious about homeowners insurance because of Tornados. Talk about weather. Also cost of city water costs and that sort of thing.

Home owners insurance is variable of course by the company but it averages between $140-$200 a month and city water costs between $35-$50 a month. I'll be doing a cost of living video in the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for that. If you have any more questions please let me know.

@@southernlivingnow124 …. Thank you for responding. Homeowners insurance is a question many ask since that one insurance company said they would no longer insure homes in Florida because of the storm damages in the past. Gee, I wonder what the cost of insurance would be in New Orleans. 🤔

@@southernlivingnow124 …. Another question. I live in South Eastern Washington State. I don’t have this issue , but some friends that live in other villages nearby do, internet service. I have a friend that had terrible internet service at her house so she switched to Elon Musks Satellite internet , it’s around $125 a month. She said it’s speedy but now has great high speed internet. Also, because of tornadoes, are storm cellars common at most homes? Just curious. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we don’t typically have severe storms like the South. I’m in South Eastern Washington, it’s desert here, not like Seattle, many think the whole state has Rainey weather, not so. 😊. Thanks for the education ✌️

@@MissPrissy6688 That's a good question, I have friends in New Orleans so I might ask them about that. I work in Tennessee as well and I know the homeowners insurance isn't too bad. We get tornadoes here and there. We did have a bad one and Bowling Green a couple of years ago but all in all it's not as bad as people think in my opinion.

@@MissPrissy6688 There are some houses that have storm cellers but it's not very common around here. Like I said sometimes we will get a tornado every couple years that actually does damage to a big area but most of the time it is pretty isolated. But as far as internet service it is pretty good unless you are in a very rural area. If you're in Bowling Green or surrounding you should be fine because AT&t and a few other companies service that area with not only high speed internet but certain areas offer fiber. Of course you always have the option of satellite internet but that usually only is needed if you are in a very rural area that doesn't have a provider nearby

Being a collage town and having a lot of rentals is not a plus. Both of them tend to rase the crime rate and hold real estate prices down.

I get what you're saying and absolutely agree that having more rentals, especially can bring up crime rate but honestly I think it could be a positive for a lot of people with limited means or if they were a real estate investor but absolutely could be a negative for others, just depends on how you look at it.

College towns rarely have high crime. Not even close to the larger cities on a per capita level. College towns are great for lots of restaurants, things to do and far less traffic.
