I almost chose Florida over Arizona. The deciding factor was: Dry Heat vs Humidity Heat. I already experienced Humidity Heat. I'm now approaching 10 years of living in Arizona. I can't believe what I have accomplished here. Was a State Employee, lived on one of the Native American Reservations (had a job), Gave Tours of the Grand Canyon and many many many other positive accomplishments. I came to Arizona from a Midwest State, that wasn't very well for me. It was a dire situation and I needed to leave. Long story short, I NEVER meant to stay so long in Arizona. I was thinking maybe 2-3 years tops. I'm still young and am looking at trying Florida for a year or 2. I'm non Partisan and I mind my own business.👍

I am south Floridian born and raised. Florida just wasn’t my pathway and comfort no more. Not only that but the whole hurricane pathway zone is dangerous. Thank god growing up there I never had my neighborhood flooded or some sort of storm surge. I survived Wilma (2006), Charley (2004), and Irma (2017). Then the power is out for days at times depending when FPL will cut them back on, it gets soooo hot after that hurricane passes over. I didn’t enjoy that and hated the tropical storms. 88 hurricanes passed through my county in broward county. I get we need rain but the rain in Florida is brutal than what Floridians or transplant Floridians won’t admit that because they’re so blinded with rose colored lenses. Hurricane season is from June - December; so you always got to be on the look out even though they don’t come yearly but it was a time in the 2000s where they were coming every damn year. I got tired of that. Florida do have low wages and the workforce and one of the worst states to go try to build some new life. You have to come there with wealth or a strong experienced educated college background or have a passive income. You need $100k to live really good there not a $50,000.00 yearly income. People are blinded by the beaches and “weather”. It’s not the place to be homeless because it’s either you’ll be in the scorching Sun outside or in fear of losing your life over a brutal rain which always flooding or a tropical storm or Hurricane. You don’t even have time to go to beaches all the time because most native Floridians are busy working so damn much or having multiple jobs to keep up with the rent or mortgages. It’s not a vacation island like how they make it sound. It only caters to upper middle class and the wealthy which most don’t wanna admit that. Their social services when you fall in hard times don’t support you and will leave you outside to sleep for years until some opening comes for a shelter bed or housing. So, you must go there already established or successful, it’s a beautiful state and it helped who I am today but I warn people about the weather disasters and economic conditions of finances. Go there already successful. When you’re wealthy, you could fly out during Hurricanes hit the state most poor people have to stay because of lack of income.

I was stationed in the panhandle for 4 years and loved the area (minus 98 traffic and hurricanes). I got stationed here in Tucson 4 years ago. They both have pro’s and con’s. In the panhandle the humidity isn’t bad if you are near the water, the cost of living is much lower, it’s way more conservative, and Florida is way more friendly to veterans. If the hurricanes and 98 traffic weren’t there it would be ideal. Tucson isn’t bad, but the cost of living is way too high for what you get, the summers are never ending, the traffic is pretty bad when the snowbirds come back, and Arizona as a whole is not very veteran friendly. They passed proposition 130 last year to exempt disabled veterans from property taxes, and nobody I know qualifies for it since they put a$30,000 a year income restriction on it. The best part about Tucson is there’s no natural disasters. Tucson is the liberal Mecca of Arizona, so there’s plenty of crime if you’re looking for that kind of thing.

Both exemplary states and great places to live in their own right. Phoenix and Miami are becoming globally renowned cities with Tucson and Tampa up-and-coming. Tourists visit both states by the millions annually and both have significant seasonal population jumps. I’d argue that Florida wins the winter weather category since it does not get as cold at night as Arizona and has longer daylight hours. Winter is also Florida’s “dry season” and features more moderate humidity. Spring and Fall in Arizona are amazing, though. Almost always dry, sunny and warm- perfect for those outdoor activities. I think it’s fair to say that at the time of writing this Florida is more attractive to those looking to relocate when it comes to its politics as well. We’ll see how that plays out..

Humid summers and hurricane watching in the fall. No thanks. I’ll take AZ dry Heat and no hurricanes, earthquakes, or tornadoes. And cheap homeowners insurance too (especially compared to FL where insurance rates are doubling and tripling). That slightly cheaper house in Florida is a lot less cheap when you’re paying thousands more for insurance. And I get tired of the beach after a few days on vacation anyway.

This is exactly my scenario. I've lived in Orlando for over 25 years and just retired. As a child I grew up in Scottsdale from age 4 through 7th grade. A lot of good memories. Before the plandemic, I had planned on moving back to AZ for retirement. Now we've had home prices artificially inflate in both states. I refuse to pay 650K for a house that someone paid 450K for in 2020. I just won't. I'm currently renting an apt and will renew the lease which ends in September. If the housing market doesn't crash by this time next year, I'll probably just take my money set aside for a home and spend it on bucket list items.

But why let yourself be consumed by things you can’t change. And also, if you’re a Christian, don’t you know that over 88% of Mexicans are Christians? How do you live with yourself when you know your time on earth is limited and soon to meet God, how would you justify hate or anger towards another human? Better yet, do you know that no single religion in the world says that God will judge anyone whether they liked their country or not but we will be judged whether we helped other people or not. For me I know I was born alone and will die alone and I know the only change I can do is with each person I meet so I make sure nobody leaves me with a bad heart. But I love Florida but it’s getting to expensive. And Arizona is too dry so I’m no longer sure but retiring outside the US is definitely on my mind when I get old one day.

Did he actually say, "Arizona's weather is mild year round?" This narrator has his thumb on the scale. While I prefer Arizona over Florida, southern Arizona in the summer is ungodly hot.

Why does this say Southern Arizona vs Florida? Instead of Arizona vs Florida? Is Northern Arizona a separate state? And FL is way less isolated than Arizona😂. If you’re in Jax, you’re 2 hours from Savannah, 2 hours from Orlando, 2 hours from Tallahassee, 3.5 hours from Tampa, & 5 hours from Atlanta Miami or Pensacola. Phoenix to LA is 6 hours. Phoenix to Vegas is 5 hours. Phoenix is 2 hours from where? Tucson? Flagstaff? Sedona? I’m sorry but living in a desert sounds depressing, no water and & 110 degree summers? No thanks. Cool mountains tho 😂

There are parts of Florida that looks like Utah. Cattle ranches with Spanish moss hanging of the live Oak trees. FL is not just the "villages" and busy Sarasota. I bought some ocean front property in Arizona off a guy headed to Mexico.
