Living in a Van for 4 Years! | Van Life Tour Lifted Chevy Express DIY camper conversion

Frank and his cat Sunny live in this lifted converted 1998 Chevy Express van. Frank has renovated the build multiple times to fit different needs, and now it is built out to fit just him and his cat. He built it as a 4 seasons camper capable of going off road to explore the less touristy places, with R-14 rockwool insulation, a diesel heater, listed suspension, and upgraded tires. He has plans for a small woodstove, but for now he gets by with a under 200$ diesel heater off amazon ( amzn.to/33MkZRV ). He has solar, a battery bank, a kitchen, storage, skateboard decor, and much more! If you enjoyed this video make sure to subscribe and share it with your friends.

Mary - until the cat scratches up your $2000 chair. its easy to say when the cat is scratching up an easily replaceable piece of wood and you dont have room for a scratching post. cant discipline a cat for that. Im more used to birds, generally you cant discipline them for shit as they simply dgaf. you have to prograim their bird brains with sunflower seeds.

@@TheFreshPeddler LOL I don't own a $2000 chair. If I had an extra $2000 laying around, I would give all except $50 to my local no kill animal shelter and buy a $50 chair at a thrift store. Animals are far more important to me than material things. I feed the birds too.

Why are we forcing ourselves to meet the expectations of the world? This effects mental health of the ones who know that there is MORE to life than working a 40+ hour week and paying bills. She does not meow incessantly, or annoy me, and is not demanding. I brush her and play with her every day which is fun for both of us. She alerts if there’s anyone outside just like a dog would, she also lets me know if there’s a bug anywhere in my house. I have a long list regarding her positive attributes. @@cwr8618 I really liked how he created smaller windows by building the frames. I have the massive windows as well, and it's just too much in the summer heat. Having fixed insulation behind it always has to help quite a lot. I've been using reflectix inserts on the whole window and it's been a pain. The summer heat caused the fabric I have attached to shrink and crinkle causing them to always fall. I got so fed up that I permanently attached them using thumb tacks soooooo no more light. 😂 I'm from Ohio for reference. I only part time in the good months so I tend to avoid the cold. Heat is my real issue.

Off subject but watching him I kept seeing him as RANDY HANSON doppelgänger. Randy does JIMI HENDRIX internationally and Ive known him so I can say they sound and think alike. This was a super sweet home tour. Eye opening with inspired simple ingenuity . Happy trails ya’ll, Cheers!

A kettle on the stove for a washcloth bath, or for dishwashing is simple. Best diesel heater placement I’ve seen. Nice, simple, rustic, functional build.

Enjoyed and found myself glued to what you said about things. I like what you have done and it kind of directs me as to I want to make my van. I put it together quickly, and got on the road. I didn't have and don't really have the money right now to redo mine as I want it. But I have learned a lot from you. I'm older and can't do what I use to, but have tried to make up my mind as to what I want for a vehicle, and for now, I guess I'm staying with my van. I raised the roof as a first step. I wanted enough room to walk and relax at a desk. I've tried several different ways of layouts. This gave me the option of trying what I've done before I build it for sure. Thanks again, and may God bless and guide you! Thanks! Rick PS. I like the fuel milage I get that I haven't gotten with anything else!

i have two offspring, here on the Island, had a wonderful life, had 3 beautiful homes required a lot of tools,, will build out the van with the help of friends and enjoy the Big Island, forgot to say i'm 84 also and ready for more adventure in my life. I raced GP motorcycles, was very good, had 3 wonderful lovers an 2 wonderful wife's and so on. It's just time. Forgot to say, I'm in a wheelchair too.

I like it! It's the first van I've seen with a "Navy size" bed. I slept in those tiny bunks for years, and they became perfectly comfortable after just a few days. I've been planning a layout very similar to yours, and I'm glad to see the way your desk works. I Think I may steal that idea!

Love love this guy!!! I'm preparing to live van life currently (bought a starter van), which I have no idea what I'm doing and no one to help (Grateful for videos). Someone made an offer on my home that's for sale. I am basically learning day by day. My biggest challenge is how to make things work with (4) cats... my besties! I only wish to find friends (knowledge) to help me transition and I too share my knowledge with them as well. May we face life without fear. I sure wish I could talk to this beautiful soul! I'm sure we will all meet as we are meant to. I have no idea how I'm going to do this.... but I'm willing to adapt! My cats are my top priority! Sending you tons of love and thank you for sharing this beautiful energy. I'm currently in Uniontown Pennsylvania! Not on any social media except youtube. Grateful! 💕 May you all continue to thrive and live in the attitude of gratitude that helps remind us of what really matters. It's beyond the material realm, for sure! 💜🤗💜

I just started following you on IG. Thank you so much for this video 🙏 I can totally relate to what you're saying and am constantly fantasizing about doing the same thing. We're just mainly doing weekend trips, and I'm slaving away at a super super stressful job for the money. You've done a fantastic job with your van, and Sunny is beautiful and has that same peaceful energy👌👌👌 We paid Dave and Matt for our build in a 136 wb Promaster and are extremely happy with it. We have a composting toilet and a collapsible shower that make us self-contained. They gave us an electric heat sensor that heats up a 7 gallon water jug super fast. Have you tried that? Happy travels...
