Nomi might have saved mine. I'm not kidding. I'm planning to move north after living in the south all my life. I'm *SO* looking forward to hikes in the snow, reveling in the beauty, then returning to the warm house that smells of something cooking. The rare times it's snowed here, I ADORED doing that, but that was hiking on places I know well. Had I not seen this video, I *would* have tried a hike in snow like that through a place I didn't know well once I get moved up there. Now? Nope. NO. No way. Thank you, Nomi. Sincerely.❤

@@Liberal.Linda. I suggest joining a hiking club where-ever you move to and or really researching and using all the great tools out there such as apps and books. I moved to North Dakota from So. Cal. 30 years ago and I had a bit to learn but most people are so nice and willing to teach and help.

Nomi, I’m 77 🚺🇨🇦 and I strongly, very strongly advise, when you get up to the Yukon and the Arctic, that you do not go alone! I strongly advise that you go with a tour group in the Arctic especially, even northern BC can very dangerous places full of wild animals, lots of bears, and it doesn’t matter what colour bear you encounter, every bear is a dangerous bear. Please start looking into Tours through northern BC and the Yukon. When you get to the Yukon & Alaska, you’ll be able to find tours that go into Alaska & the Arctic I’m sure. Please do not go on your own.

Great time to research snow/hiking. You needed snow shoes to hike in deeper snow, which you would most definitely run into in the West. Now that you are traveling at higher elevations this is 100% normal. You didn’t almost die. You hiked in deeper snow with zero knowledge or experience. It’s not that drama, you just need to be more informed. Prepare yourself for the facts about Alaska if that’s where you’re going.

Hey Nomi hve a blessed day and stay safe and prayed up
Elevation is key esp when trekking in the mountains. Check that. The depths as u climb (when snow) can greatly deepen just within 10 mins of climb.
You are taking the exact route we took 50 years ago camping. Up through Colorado, then Reno, then Tahoe, then San Fran, then Eureka. That’s as far north as we got! So fun to see it again. Thank you!
As you can see they had a very heavy snow fall this winter. Going out on a trail snow packed that has winter storm warnings is not smart. Do you remember the story about the Donner party? Make smart decisions. They got over 7 FEET of snow. You could drop in and be found next summer
You should do a cookbook for people living in their vehicles. You can have tips for storage, left overs, washing and etc. Your food looks so good. Just an idea.
Bring bear spray-always... also, a Garmin in mandatory for solo travels. There s no rush... get prepared .
Thank you for turning back. You gotta stay extra safe out there by yourself!🙏🏽❤️
