Also it says a lot about you as a person, and a KZreadr that after meeting a fan you invited them to join you both and had a great time!, you don't see that often (and when you do it's always scripted/a friend of theirs) so it was nice to see you being so friendly and humble as usual. Hiking, camping AND delivery pizza and ice cream? You ARE living the dream! 😂

The last time I was in Glacier I was 13 years old and it was 1993. My brother and my dad were going on a bike trip through the Rockies and my mom and I met them every evening after hiking and painting (for me… I’ve done Plein air landscape painting since I was a very little kid… always been an artist!) and writing (my mom… she’s a writer and teacher). This video reminded me of our trip so much. We went over Logan pass as the sun came up because we were meeting my dad and brother after they biked up going to the sun. They wanted an early start because they didn’t allow cyclists during peak hours because the road is just too busy and narrow. But the great thing about being there so early was that we had the road to ourselves and it was beautiful watching the sun come up and the light change as we went up to the pass. I have such great memories of that trip. Your video brought it all back so vividly to me! My Dad died a few months ago suddenly and very unexpectedly and having those memories of adventures together is something I cherish so much. I loved hearing my Dad tell me and my mom about his daily adventures and my mom and I telling him about our day as we set up camp in our tent and old Toyota van from the mid 80s, made dinner all together, and laughed and told stories. Having adventures with good people in beautiful places is one of the best things there is, I think 💗

One time we entered Glacier Park from the west entrance and barely got past a scary forest fire that came across the road behind us. Since we couldn't go back out that way, we had to take the Road to the Sun eastbound in order to eventually get out of the park. In that direction, it seemed like we were mostly on the outside lane and there were many places where there was no wall or barrier and the pavement just ended at the edge of the drop off. There were also places where part of the pavement had fallen off and left a nice "V" shaped notch in the pavement where we could get an even better view of space below. Needless to say, it was the scariest ride I've ever taken! Oh, and by the way, our young grandson was crying and screaming for most of that trip -- but we had more important things to be concerned about. Thankfully, we all survived and our grandson grew up to become a delightful young man, but I'll never forget that very scary road. FYI, the reason the park insisted on our wearing seat belts was that, if there was accident, it makes it easier for them to find the bodies!

Fun fact- my dog is named Jack after Jackson Glacier (he was a stray in the area with a similar story to camper) :) If you haven't left MT yet and are heading west there is a cool bison range to drive through where people see lots of animals (CSKT Bison Range) and Lolo national forest is beautiful.

I didn't know and showed up to the west gate and had to park outside and walk up the highway into the park... not ideal. At least they open it in the evening though, made for some cool sunset shots driving through the park. It's interesting seeing you show up lately at a lot of the places I just went through on my own trip, getting to relive those memories through a different lens.

My goodness, that place is breathtaking! Montana has always been one of the places that I've always wanted to visit, and this just reinforces it. The hike gave you guys a good workout for sure but definitely looked super fun! Sara (Sarah?) is such a pro at tripping, must run in the family. lol

One of my favorite videos. A lot of videos get a little annoying w/the dog. It's good when it just more ppl interaction & adventure; minus the dog hopping around all over the place.

When I saw you two go into that glacier lake it brought memories back to me when I hiked up to 11k and dove into a deep mountain stream coming right out of a snow bank. Needed a bath after traveling for two days with burros into the mountains of Colorado. I got my Jackery out too and charged it as I am going out this week to camp-out at altitude. Love your set-up for glamping. I use a platform bed with drawer in my truck with an 8'x 8' tent attached to the rear. It's great you have you cuz along to share this time with her. Great video adventure.
