Abdus Salam was a Pakistani physicist who won the Nobel Prize in Physics, along with Sheldon Glashow and Steven Weinberg, in 1979 for his contribution to the electroweak theory. In this interview, Salam discusses his own education, the relationship between science and Islam and the lack of access to scientific education in developing countries.

Professor Abdus Salam is a legendary personality of Pakistan. His majestic work in research is no less than that of Einstein so he should be honored in a proper manner. Abdus Salam Chair should be set up in all major universities of Pakistan and abroad.

Thanks for uploading the interview of Professor Dr Abdus Salam🙏🌹. This is probably the longest interview of Dr Salam. He was great scientist and human being. He believed in shearing the knowledge and helping those who needed help for their education, regardless of religious and ethnic backgrounds. Very humble person ❤️
Greatest intellectual mind. I am very much impressed by Dr.Abdul salam and choose my career in physics to work on , I was born exactly the same day when salam sir died. I am very thankul for this page to upload this precious video
Note how he'd say he felt very fortunate for all the things in his life, thereby acknowledging all the help he'd gained from all around him for his successes. What a humble and genuine human being. Merinding.

Thanks a lot for bringing this very interesting and marvelous conversation. I really enjoyed it. I had the chance to grow up at the ICTP center that brought a lot of experience and knowledge to my present-day status.

He is not considered Muslim by the government of Pakistan, and could be killed by a religious mob by an order of a mullah, these days.
We are proud to have him as a son of Pakistan. Thank you for your services, Sir.
remarkable. thank you for uploading this interview.
I'm proud of him 😎
Great Scientist , Mr Abdus Salam

Wassily Leontief was the one he talked about in this video.
Great achiever! I really hope kids can get inspired by him and follow him in other fields. I didn't have the opportunity to know him when he was alive but heard a lot of good things about him.
He was a sign of Allah on the truthfulness of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad AS. تیرے فرقہ کے لوگ علم معرفت میں کمال حاصل کریں گے ۔ اور یہ اُن میں سے ایک ہیں ۔ الحمد للہ

This is indeed a rare interview but I won’t dispute you; Audio is so muffled. So A: 4/10 V: 5/10
Electro Weak Unification
Am proud having met him twice. Electricity & magnetic forces were combined by Maxwell, he and his colleagues were trying to further the unification of other magnetic forces (weak forces etc. etc.). Great job 👏
I can't believe countries like Singapore and South Korea took his advice seriously and now look where they are now but Pakistan itself not only remained but in further decline in developments. Such a shame

Of course, there was a scientific civil service (CSIR) and other similar scientific organizations in India at the time of this interview. He was still referring to Pakistan. He had no clue about scientific education in post partition India (e.g. setting up of TIFR, IISc, IIT, etc). He did not seem to know very much of the science and mathematics of Bhahmagupta, Aryabhatta, etc. - which existed long before the islamic occupation of India, which was indeed a sterile period for Indian science and mathematics.
Pride of India too as an Indian Hindu , I take immense pride in his achievements 🇮🇳
