Venture beyond the housing estates and forests of Sembawang, and you will find Masjid Petempatan Melayu Sembawang. The mosque was built in 1963 by villagers who lived by the northern coast of Singapore.

I used to visit my grandparent's kampong at sembawang but government later asked to shift to HDB. Lots of memories. No more sembawang kampongs, hope the government will preserve this last sembawang kampong mosque there.
Historical masque/heritage building... I hope, Singapore goverment could maintain this masque...
Dulu pn saya dn kluarga pernah tinggal d S,pore kerana aruah ayah kerja British army d ayer rajah road .....kami sekluarga tinggal d clementi quarters ....serta sekolah d sana juga ketika itu dlm tahun 1961 x silap sebelum tu dduk rmh kg d bukit timah

Lee Foundation was founded by the late Dato Lee Kong Chian, nothing to do with Lee Kuan Yew. Dato Lee was a very wealthy and successful businessman and philanthropist who owned rubber and pineapple plantations in Malaysia, among other businesses. He even sponsored a building in ACS in Barker Road.
In the end.... Lee foundation help. 🤣
