Thanks for the video. I appreciate your passion. We use the stock plugin Logic version to multitrack record. We input monitor each channel as well. We use to train volunteers before we go all out and begin to use the mix for our stream. HOWEVER, from time to time we’ll get the dreaded system overload message in logic? Can you share your Logic settings to help minimize the error? Thank you!!

I appreciate you! It depends on your computer! What are your computer specs? It really depends on your computer specs. I have a 64 I/O buffer size.

We have a base Mac Mini, M2 chip. 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD. Running Logic 10.8.1

The ram definitely is the issue. Also if you are doing multitracking recording, 256gb will be too small. With such a small amount of ram, logic will start to use swap memory (SSD storage) which will ware and tear your SSD much sooner. You can try to use a higher I/O buffer but that might increase latency. You will eventually have to get another Mac mini with at least 32gb of ram. You can repurpose the one you are currently using for something else.

Hello. Thanks for sharing. About the 10ms delay from the Simple Delay plug-in. How was that calculated? Is it 10ms delay on each channel? Thanks!

Hi it’s on the input channels! The delay is to compensate for the latency of the Gates during live mixing. It’s for sample accurate sync between the channels and prevents your drums from flamming.

Great video and informative information! My church's live stream mix/output sounds very muffled/overly compressed. We have a separate mixer for livestream only and the source mix at that stage sounds fine but does not translate to the final mix. We are using Pro Tools and Midas HD 96. The mix output is routed to the Blackmagic video equipment that is connected to the computer that is running the livestream broadcast. We are using OBS feeding stream yard. I have read somewhere that the Blackmagic devices can cause this issue, but I can't figure out if it's the livestream settings in OBS or is the issue somewhere else in the signal flow. Can you offer some suggestions on how to resolve the issue?

Hello! How do you listen to the mix while mixing of the online audience. Where do you plug the headphones into? Do you have an audio interface?

Thanks! Dante for audio and a switcher with multiple outputs for video is the shortest answer.

Hey, for the DAW what would be the standard specs of the DAW computer to use for streaming?

Hey! The cool thing about DAWS is that the computer doesn’t have to be that crazy. Any i7 and up from the past 3 years will do. Get an SSD 256gb and higher and at least 16gb of ram. If you are doing multitracking, get 32gb minimum and 512GB or higher for the SSD. I’m actually using a 2013 Mac Pro trash can for a Dante setup with Logic.

Great video. Can anyone recommend a DAW for windows doing church live stream? Beginner friendly.

Try to stay away from free DAWS for churches. Reason being, you won’t be able to find much help when trying to find out how it works or when things go wrong.

I would go with the main ones. Pro Tools, Abelton and Reaper. For Mac all of those and Logic. Mac isn’t as expensive as before because of the Apple silicon.
