We have karackichan guardian dogs ..great dogs also..
Been busy on my farm with work that has to be finished before spring and helping sick family. I’ll be back watching videos and throwing like to the Goat Guy here soon. Thanks again for sharing your farm, animals, knowledge and adventures. Gods speed and good hunting to you all. 🐐🎥👑💯👍
I used to be worried about things like barking. All night...another mouth to feed (even tho I take on new goats all the time)....I lost my boy goats to coyotes in the new pasture over the weekend. I'm in grief, and now I don't sleep well, even tho my remaining goats are right outside my window and an ear shot away, my piece of mind has been shot ...my half Akbash/great pyrenees puppy arrives today...thank you for your videos. Very helpful
Learn a lot with your videos. Thanks
4cups twice a day initially seems like a lot, but Storm is in absolutely beautiful shape… he must work those calories off! You can literally see Rain actively thinking in the background here too. Great breeding is showing, papers or no. Smart, good dogs are priceless, some is genetics, but a *lot* is the proper training too. Not going to mention how my now 7 month old goat just started doing a Superman jump out a pretty small gap above my pallet pen setup… not saying it won’t work, just that when I finally saw him make the jump it was a “really?!? That’s where?” Moment! (He’s half feral, so maybe extra special?)
Where are you located? Do you have a little coming up soon? Thanks

I’m in Boise and we will be breeding her soon.
I tried one of those free choice feeders for my LGD because her breeder recommended it. I found that it did not close the way it was advertised, even though I made sure it was level, and the food got moldy. It was very difficult to clean! Now I feed her every night. She has learned to keep the goats off her food. I have heard of 2 farms that lost their LGD's to a twisted stomach. It's said that feeding them elevated helps to prevent it. How do you feed yours? Have you heard about this sort of problem?

I haven’t, and I don’t feed any particular way other than a bowl on the ground

There’s also a surgical procedure to stitch the stomach in place to prevent this but as you can imagine it’s expensive.
Any comments about how to deal with LGD chicken killers?

We have had issues with storm with that as well with our young chickens. We struggled with it but with constant discouragement he has seemed to figure it out. A stern no every time e went near them.
