In this series, Lives of the Sahaba, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses the lives of the noble companions, some of the greatest and most blessed human beings to ever live after the death of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him [S].
While not a comprehensive history of the Khulafa Ar-Rashidoon, this series will provide a summarized biography of the men and women considered to be the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet [s]), including the Mothers of the Believers (the wives of the Prophet).

My sons name is Khalid and he often asks me about his name and i always respond with saying that i named you after a great sahaba but i wanted to listen to the story of Khalid ibn Walid so im glad i found it here. Umar's mom is not Khalid's cousin. Khalid and Hashim are brothers. If Hashim has a daughter, she will be Khalid's niece. Very nice lecture though.

Kaniz Fatima you're right.. Umar's mother is Khalid's niece , so Umar is Khalid's grandson.. that is why Umar is the great grandson of Al Walid Mughira ..

Abdur Razzaq I guess this is your first lecture of sheikh Yasir qadhi? He has done a lot of lectures about the companions of rasullah s.a.w and his families. Please check his episodes regarding sahabiss before rush to judge and I understand where you coming from.

alhamdulillah! I have done yasir qadhi all Serrah lectures more than 100, four kulafa rashedun and 10 ashara mubasharrah. currently khaled bin walid part 1 and many more icna and kuthba. but I feel two important ahle bayet is missing!

Abdur Razzaq he has done Karbala history in details if you like it Hassan and Hussein r.a and the 10 guaranteed Janah sayyidina Ali r.a he's one of Ahlul Beit

I might be wrong, but I think the sheikh messed up describing Khalid (RA) relation with Umar (RA). According to what I understood Khalid (RA) is actually the Uncle of Umar's (RA) mother, Whereas the sheikh kept mentioning him as her cousin. Allah o alam!

I think the sheikh is right about the relation between Khalid and Omar. Hisham was the brother of Walid, hence Hantatma was the cousin of Khalid. So Omar was nephew of Khalid.
Khalid is an uncle to Omer, not first cousin, because his older brother daughter is Omer’s mother.

Sorry my bad Khalid is the uncle to Omer’s mother, therefore Khalid is great uncle to Omer.
Hisham Ibn Alwalid embraced Islam, so there are Three siblings who became Muslims

Khalid and Ikrimah are not cousins. Ikrimah is nephew to Khalid
why not imam Hasan and Hussain?
