Yep, they sound so pissed off. There are also some vids of the BBC Scotland coverage where the commentators exploded with joy when that goal went in

Remember those games really well. Thought Liverpool were def going to go through bec our record at Anfield was great. And then Celtic came and produced a very strong display. Well done to them theyve always been my second team.

When Liverpool went through in prior tie, on away goals, Celtic demolished Liverpool. Just couldn't score at Anfield. That McManaman goal was so vital but stoppable (Stunning goal but someone could've fouled him along the way}. My point here is that 9/10 British ties., Celtic turn up, yet we're a pub team. One that beats Leeds, Liverpool, Blackburn and Man United. Guitdiola can't beat us. Does my head in .

That was one of Celtic's greatest ever European results. When Martin O'Neill was in charge Celtic knocked teams like Ajax, Liverpool and Barcelona out of Europe. Celtic had a great team then and were good enough to beat a Liverpool team with Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard in it.

Opposite for me Liverpool my first team Celtic my second, if I’m being honest I was gutted when you lost the final

The referee that day was Dr Markus Merk from Germany. I had the opportunity to chat to him a few years ago and during our conversation I asked him what his favourite memory was during his long career. He said it was this game. Toward the end of the game the result was clear. Liverpool needed three goals to win (away goals rule back then) and there was only around 2 minutes of added time to go. However both sets of fans were singing YNWA at the top of their voices. He played an extra 6 minutes of added time, just so they could sing on. Incredible person.

Remember this when I was about 11 years old. Diouf spat at Celtic fans in the 1st leg which was disgraceful.

Both Rangers and Celtic had teams that could have competed at the top of the prem back then, and teams like dundee, hearts and Hibs were signing very good players it was a good few years until the tv deal fell through

The noughties were a good decade. Celtic and Rangers went on extended European runs and both reached finals then. Hell even Aberdeen got a draw with Bayern Munich after Christmas in 2007-8.

That should not be Liverpool v Celtic, it should be Celtic v Liverpool as Celtic are the home team, so Celtic come first.

Cannot argue that I have never heard such a subdued tone from Barry Davies. As a commentator he was loud but untechnical about a match. For his BBC pension he should have been switched to hang and dry out on 'Gardener's Question Time'. Just about his limit. But hey, this is old Auntie Beeb, they know best. Who takes them serious apart from I....dunno.

@@DeezN1892 The thing is, when Celtic won the Semi Final against Boavista, ITN News' headline was Beckham signing for Real Madrid.They didn't even mention Celtic. It was a huge achievement, considering we knocked out 2 of England's leading clubs. It'd be no different today, otherwise I wouldn't bother mentioning it.

@@DeezN1892 I don't understand the English mentality on the UEFA cup, or Europa League. It's European football. In the nicest way, if an English sport team or individual achieve something in any sport, honestly, we never hear the end of it. I understand Beckham's hype, but really, everyone knew it was happening, long before that night. No one really thought Celtic would get to a euro final. We support and acknowledge your football achievements in Europe. It'd be nice if you did the same.

It's hard to remember the time when Scottish teams could compete with English teams if only on the rare occasion. I don't think Celtic would "get much change" out of today's Liverpool nor any of the top half of the Premier League.

Are you mentally ok 😂. The worst football song is simply the best when they are simply not. Getting pumped by every team 4-0 3-0 7-1 then struggled to beat Motherwell 2-1😂
