Liverpool Old Dock

Don't be expecting photographic genius here as I take pictures of a large brick wall. It is however, one of the most important brick walls ever..!

Quite short this week Clare but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've wondered if you were UK but clearly you aren't! All the very best to you in Oz
Great video Alan I’ve been down loads of times over last few years brilliant it is. Im into Wirral and Liverpool history even Chester to. Love the one about Birkenhead Priory. I’ve heard there building a new ferry terminal at Cammell lairds. Look forward to more videos. I’ve subscribed to your channel.

Lovely to hear from a local Mark! Maybe we can meet up one day next year? Thanks for subscribing.
Interesting -didn’t know that existed. Thanks for the video!

Thanks Andrew, it really is worth a visit but its hard to make interesting images out of it!
That was a wet one, wheres me raincoat, then your scouser guide , "welcome to the the old docks or whats left of it" and "your basically just looking at a brick wall" 😊 although I actually knew the the meaning of English and Flemish bonds. Any how I learned a little more about Liverpool, trying to find an interesting subject photography wise looked very challenging, I think they should hold photography competitions down there. Take care, always nice to see you Alan.

Haha Steve, you hit the nail on the head there! Its a great place to see, but really hard to make images down there. After all a brick wall, is a brick wall!
Lovely video Alan, I’m guessing many people don’t know this exists (I didn’t).. puts me in mind of the Williamson tunnels (fascinating place)..on a side note I finally have my EM 10 and 12-50mm combination, I think it’s the closest I’ve come to the ‘perfect’ camera, absolutely love it! I think that makes you an ‘Influencer’ Alan!

Im so happy you like that combo Derek and thanks for the kind words about the video. As for me being an influencer? I think I'm probably 25 years too late!
fascinating that Alan - thank you 🙂 Such a shame local councils don't keep more history and heritage "alive" in teh face of rampant commercialism and development - but at least they maintained some of it to still look at and experience. Those 300 year old bricks - superb to look at 🙂

To think that the walls are over 300 years old and that they are still there says it all Alan.
Very enjoyable (as always) and interesting video, I do have a question, did you take a ride on the merry-go-round? Be well and stay safe Alan.

Yes, he built "Seels House" on Hanover street, where Tesco is now. He was a prolific engineer/architect.
