Live with LAFD: Task Force 39 Training - Part 1
During their scheduled training time on April 14, 2020, Task Force 39 drove down to Fire Station 58 to use their training tower in the back. This goes through a simulation of a multi-story residential building on fire, with companies laddering the building, bringing hose lines aloft, extending the aerial to the roof, etc. Firefighter Margaret Stewart films and narrates while TF39 runs through their drill, answering your live questions along the way.

It’s a ‘triple’ because it carries water, a pump, & hoses. Hell almost every fire truck in America is a ‘triple’ including almost all of LAFD engines! 239 is a triple.

A truck is the ladder with the 100ft ladder carries no water but maybe a few 100gal. To prime the pump if it has one as most do. The engine has ladders yes but not like a truck company does. So sorry but you are wrong in your statement. Pretty simple if you just watch the video.

Hello! Our SCBA's are carried in compartments and not in the cab of the rig therefore we don them upon arrival. While other departments choose to use the in-seat SCBA storage we do not. And the follow on question we usually get is...why? It was a decision made by leadership which may change sometime in the future but currently, the decision was made not to use that configuration.

2 vehicles that are stationed together & respond together are a light force. 3 or more vehicles who are station together and respond together are a task force.
