Hi Guys, I'm very interested in the Harmony Singing with the exact notes you press on the (midi) Keyboard. My Question: How many different keys can you press simultaneously, that will be turned into a voice, while you sing? (=How many voices does the polyphony have)? 0:17 looks like at least 5 voices are possible.

Hey dude, great video with great detail many thanks. I actually purchased this however I am having big difficulty recording the audio effects on fruity loops. Records the vocals fine except the effects. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried adding the effects after you record dry?

The effects overlap. The 505 doesn't have harmony for instance

how do you connect it to PC? i have it plugged in via printer cable which is the only way to connect it and i have an xlr cable plugged in to an akg p220, a bit of a noob here at this section of audio type stuff, and compatibility and installation like that. any help would be great

You should be able to use a midi interface on your PC to send midi notes from a sequencer (Cubase or something) to the midi in while singing into a connected mic. He didn’t say whether or not the USB interface also sends midi data to the vet-4🤔

Hi there would this help with singing songs in F Standard or higher

is there any way to control it hands free/footswitch? And can you save patches?

He says the VT-4 can handle up to 8 voices, but the material I've seen says it can only handle 4. Does anyone know for sure?

Hi can I ask a question: My midi keyboard uses at USB type B connector. How do I connect the keyboard to the 5 pin midi port? Is there another way around it?

You would need to use a computer to route MIDI from your keyboard to the VT-4 🎉

This Vs software and plugins like auto what are the differences?? I like the idea of using hardware vrs software but I'm wondering sound quality..and features I guess?

No-no-no! :D It's the reliability, if you are using a software it will delay your voice from time2time for sure! I've tried several programs and I always had to restart them after a hour or sometimes Minutes later.. So a Product like this is for it, it won't ever crash/lag or do anything that you don't want to it to do.

I've got one of these , when it's plugged into a key board it automatically triggers the robot voice whenever you play something .. it's annoying. Apparently there are firmware updates to overcome this . . However I've downloaded them and the only files in the zip folder are links to online readme docs. I just want to alter my voice and not sound like a harmony singing Darth Vader !!

It's a real shame that Roland seem to have omitted the ability to trigger the presets via midi program change messages from the keyboard. That would be really helpful when playing live so the vocoder can be away from the keys and you don't have to move your hands off the keys.

indeed, I was waiting to see at least an input for a footswitch. This makes the device almost useless in live performances

Are you sure? According to Roland's website (there is a MIDI implementation doc there) each effect can be toggled & tweaked via MIDI. I'm asking because I'm planning to buy one only if it can be used this way.

Sorry I couldn’t tell, does it have phantom power for condenser mics?

Would you recommend this for steamers? And if so, how would I connect a headphone amp to it? I have 250 OHM headphones.

I think you can use Voicemeeter to get the sound in and out. Hope this helps. :D Also for Streamers/KZreadrs, check out some videos from "Kitboga"(Who's a twitch Streamer/KZreadr, great content!) He's catching scammers, by Editing his voice with this product. (Realtime better than any software that you can find, ANYWHERE!) If you are trying to use any software, it will delay your voice from time2time, sometimes even Voicemeeter does that, but you can just reset the engine in VoiceMeeter with a Macro Button, also trust me it just rarely happens. (Once in a year.)

That is build more for Musicians than software controller users. Also the Price beats it.

Can you also use that for normal voice? And is it working for smart phones to sing Live?
