Live view of Saturn with my 14-inch telescope
Ғылым және технология
Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant with an average radius of about nine times that of Earth.It only has one-eighth the average density of Earth; however, with its larger volume, Saturn is over 95 times more massive. Saturn is named after the Roman god of wealth and agriculture. Saturn's interior is most likely composed of a core of iron-nickel and rock (silicon and oxygen compounds). Its core is surrounded by a deep layer of metallic hydrogen, an intermediate layer of liquid hydrogen and liquid helium, and finally a gaseous outer layer. Saturn has a pale yellow hue due to ammonia crystals in its upper atmosphere.

Around 1984 or 1985, I saw Saturn like this through a telescope-spotting scope with a zoom. I'll never forget it! I was so amazed I ran to get my family to come and look at it. All I had was a that telescope with a 20x zoom, mounted on a tripod, and a star atlas. I spent hours outside on many cold winter nights, because it was so clear.

I think so, Tam! Thanks. I am not really good at taking pictures of planets. I just got lucky on this one. This would have been a much better image if I used the right camera. I just used the biggest camera and got 10 frames per second. Also, I put 4X Barlow on a 14" inch scope. That makes it giant zoom scope. Just thinking aloud. LOL

This is fantastic! Awesome image Ray!
Fantastic stuff really love this , would using filters give it any more colour ?. And have you thought of dabbling with a good solar scope and getting some good sun cam footage or pics .
@RaysAstrophotography
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert! I think I used IR/UV Cut filter from Baader with ZWO ASI 071 MC camera. That camera is not good for planets at all. But I put a 4X televue zoom that makes Saturn fills the entire APS-C sensor. I got a 5GB file video with 10 FPS.
saturn one of the most beautiful and mysterious planet in the solar system

It's not mysterious..we had Cassini orbiting it for 20 years and even checked out titan and a couple other of it 60 moons..so yeah..
I Was Up Early,It Was Beautifully Clear..It Was Also 18deg...No,lol...Im Sporting Some Titanium In My Back and Hip Joint,Plus I Need an Illuminator For My Polar Scope,Its Getting Harder To Shine a Light Across It.lGreat Shot As Always Ray,Stay Safe,and God Bless❤️🙏🏼✨🌏🔭
