LIVE Ventricular Tachycardia Spotted...

Learn More (Video Study Course): www.prepareforems.com
Come back tomorrow for part 2 of this EMS education lesson.
Ventricular Tachycardia is a lethal EKG rhythm and is also one of the cardiac arrest rhythms. What makes ventricular tachycardia interesting is that it can be pulseless or still achieve a pulse.
Depending on the patient's vital signs, and mental status will determine treatment if a pulse is present, whether we deem the patient stable or unstable.
More commonly, ventricular tachycardia will be found in Cardiac Arrest.

Most traumatic moment in my life. I remember waking up and I couldn't breathe and I look over at th monitor and it's got these zig zags rapidly going and I remember it stating VTACH at he top. Nurses and doctors came rushing into my room, ones yelling sustained, ones yelling to apply leads, I'm in and out of consciousness. I was dying from severe opioid withdrawal and an underlying heart disease. My husband forced to my go to the hospital instead of detoxing cold turkey at home. The next morning this happened. My husband saved my life.

Just had an hour and a half of my heart beat going from 80 to 120 to 180 that lasted over 1.5hours I felt so weak numb electrified so I put my oximeter on, my heart felt like coming out of my chest then my oxygen went down to 70 which made faint not knowing how low my oxygen went and my BPM high.. I was just browsing fashion websites... I'm still trying to recover how exhausted I am it happpeens often these days but hospitals don't want to see me..I have many medical conditions HYDROCEPHALUS, epilepsy, general dystonia that is too severe I have hypoxia as a result of restricted airways due to spasticity..they suspect MiTo disease but they wouldn't even want to test it or treat what conditions they already confirmed 😢😢

Im 20. From ages 15-17 I used to have V-Tach multiple times a day sometimes up to 15 minutes at a time. I tried tons of meds. Beta Blockers, Sotolol, etc. None of them worked. I was terrified 24/7. My chest hurt so bad all day. And I thought eventually I would quite literally drop dead. One day I collapsed in front of my mom. 2 days later I got a left ventricular catheter ablation. I was extremely lucky. I have a perfectly healthy heart and no underlying disease. It was Idiopathic Monomorphic V-Tach. Apparently, only 10% of V-Tach is caused by healthy hearts. I thought for sure I had a serious heart problem. I remember waking up from the ablation surgery and it was the happiest I had ever been. 3 years later and it hasn't happened since. V-Tach is terrifying on another level. You know any second you could instantly die. But I have a perfectly healthy heart, the cardiologists said I was damn lucky. I empathize with anyone suffering this. V-Tach is terrifying.

3 years ago, I tasted the horrible feeling of being in a storm of non sustained VT (basically 20 seconds of vt separated by few regular beats, for minutes). Healthy heart, monomorphic, idiopathic, irregular RR intervals, from 60 bpm (AIVR) to 180 bpm. I was hospitalized in ICU for 8 days. Cured with metoprolol.

I went into V TACH when I was 30. 2 years ago…Heart rate was 337 and rising. If the Amiodarone didn’t work I’d be dead. Scariest thing to experience.

I was at 160 when i called 911. By the time i was rushed to the hospital i was 189 . My chest was moving so fast my sight was blurry i felt like i couldn't breathe but i was breathing too fast . I didnt have a history of medical problems with my heart i drank two energy drinks within 24hrs of that event and naturally i have extremely bad panic disorder do to something that happened. My ekg was normal but i was lucky to not get a transplant or signing a DNR. Everyone was low key fighting on what to do because the surgeon was in surgery and id have to air lift hours away . I was still able to walk but i got dizzy . It took almost six months to recover from that one episode followed by a few more . I didnt realize how serious it was until they couldnt get ivs in me do to the lack of blood flowing my body started to turn purple i was only 21 years old the doctors genuinely thought that night id go in a body bag for my age vs pulse rate

yep, the energy drinks might have irritated the pacemakers in your ventricles, and they took over and started sending impulses before the SA, the natural pacemaker, could actually pace it, and the ventricles would contract before even being able to properly fill with blood, that might have led to a lack of oxygen rich blood making its way around the body, causing the purplish color on the skin, a common sign of hypoxia

@@Virtuoso242 that makes a lot of sense it’s been officially a year since the situation happened. I normally get a high pulse now, but they told me I’m healthy and to stay away from caffeine or anything that’s naturally going to raise a heart rate. Thank you for your comment because no one explained to me why I went purple or what exactly was going on or could’ve been going on .

@@BunnyRae6677 im not sure if im correct on it, but its really the only reason i can see why that may happen, so i thought i would take a stab at it, but them not being able to get IVs from lack of blood flowing, really supports the idea of a lack of oxygenated blood, im glad this provided some sort of clarity

@@NgoChi-cd6kl I had asvt episode on top is a svt which went down after they finally got fluids in me it took a good seven hours or more to go down thankfully they told me it would take much more rest but if it keeps happening to go to a doctor and see if they missed anything but at that moment it was stress caffeine and a panic attack
