It's at least partially the explosion in popularity of sim racing that's happened in the last 2 years. It's drawing gamers to watch the real deal in droves. F1 has also gained a ton of fans in the U.S. thanks to sim racing and 'Drive to Survive' on Netflix.

Most of them are probably amateurs, so there are large differences in skill between them

First time i watch a GT2 race, tbh that's not bad! There are not many cars only 13, maybe a multiclass race would be interesting with GT2 PRO & AM.

Ok so where did GT2 come from I mean we have GTLM GT3 and GT4 race series and cars. Where do the GT2 cars fit in here and why ? Whats the difference between a GT3 and GT2??

This gt2 is different from old gt2. It has more power than gt3 but less downforce and is easier to drive. It's designed for ams. All Pro line ups not allowed

GT2 is basically the safety net in case GT3 becomes to expensive. GT2 cars have more power but less aero which makes them slower than GT3s but faster than GT4s.

It's an unnecessary class created for people who want to race gt3 but can't afford it or don't have the talent for it. There is no need for gt2 if you already have gt4. Gt racing should be Hypercar, gt3 and gt4. Nothing more, nothing less.

Beautiful looking cars especially the Porsche how can you make the 40 year + old body shape look better and better every year. But these cars are really great to watch and hopefully will find some great drivers for GT3.

Was looking back at the first manufacturers' race and didn't see the stutters at all on the playback. I'm playing myself on a PS5 and I didn't experience any stutters or frame drops anywhere today on the bits of track you mentioned.
