🔴 LIVE Park Skateboarding Finals! | WST: San Juan Park 2023

Спорт

World Champions and Olympic medallists Sky Brown and Jagger Eaton headline the park skaters descending on San Juan’s Skatepark Pocito for World Skate’s Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier running form 21-28 May.
Park skateboarders looking to book their ticket to Paris 2024 will continue their qualification journey at the upcoming World Skateboarding Pro Tour 2023 stop in San Juan, Argentina from 21-28 May.
The week-long event, concluding with a final on Sunday 28 May, is set to feature 179 Olympic hopefuls all bidding to claim as many ranking points as they can to try and make it to the next Olympic Games.
Just as with February’s World Championships in Sharjah, the competition proper will begin on Wednesday 24 May with the men's and women’s open qualifier where only the top 32 skaters will advance to the quarter-finals.
There, the skaters that are pre-seeded owing to their Olympic World Skate Ranking (OWSR) will join the competition where the field will cut down through a quarter-final and semi-final leaving just eight skaters for the final.
Also following on from worlds will be the format for the contest. The open qualifier will ask skaters to perform two 45-second runs where the best score will be counted. Thereafter, it will be the best of three 45-second runs, or until there is a fall, and the best score will be counted.
From recently crowned World Champions Sky Brown and Jagger Eaton to Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallists Yosozumi Sakura and Keegan Palmer the field for the contest will be stacked to the brim with well-known talents.
And with breakout stars from Sharjah including Brazilian Augusto Akio and Great Britain’s Lola Tambling also due to attend, expect the unexpected when the action gets underway from Skatepark Pacito.
Schedule (Subject to change. All times are in UTC-3).

Judging in sakteboarding competitions has been very unfair for a while now. Steven Pinera, the Puerto Rican skater deserved WAY better points on his last run.

Great skateboarding! Not really sure what competition the judges were watching though 😬 The scoring seemed very inconsistent, and this comment section, AND even the announcers reflect that.

II wonder if the Olympics will consider older skaters too, besides the younger generation. I know they do King of the Road, SLS, and more besides the X Games, but why not the Olympics? The Dew Tour is another.

Ridiculous judging. Luigi’s was definitely not even top 3, dude just cruised the last 10 seconds. Pineiro was the pretty clear winner and they gave him 4th. Unbelievably bad

This is some of the worst judging I’ve ever seen in contest history. Cini’s first place was from a run where he completely cruised the final 10 seconds to get a banker score. Then Pineiro was the obvious most difficult run and they gave him 4th. It’s like they gave Cini the first run of the contest benchmark score way too high, then never used it as the benchmark for some reason. Like they forgot they but the benchmark way too high from the first run (maybe not too high but the others should reflect even higher because plenty of runs were better). Absolutely disgraceful judging

Nothing about pineiros run was the most difficult look at the time spent pumping/amount of setup tricks Highlight probably being the fs 3 heel grab over the flybox you mentioned Luigi Cini but with a flip BS stalefish to start it’s not even remotely close. You’ve probably never tried these but think about the body positions for those two tricks fs 360 heel you can see everything the whole time flip stalefish all you get is back pain trying to reach for it Id still give it to Tom or Tate for better line composition
