I am kinda an awkward or weird person in real life. And I am also a kinda good singer. There was a time when I used to get nervous about a simple performance where didnt even had to move. I needed guts back then. with time i learned not give a fuck about what people think. Recently I performed in my college. and i just went for it. without thinking what people would say. and i danced and moved my body whichever way i felt like. and it wasnt normal looking. but i enjoyed it. and people loved it too. people thought i have some guts to be able to do that. but i didnt needed any.

I can’t imagine a crowd watching Lorde perform this song without being there specifically to see Lorde. It’s not like a song you hear for the first time and dance and have fun to, but it’s really a great song and one of my favorite Lorde songs and I love when it builds up to the end of the song. Also can’t imagine they like Lorde’s dancing but she’s just getting into the music and expressing herself and doing her thing and I respect that.

I so understand her dancing because when you're listening to this song the music takes over and it's all you're focused on and you just want to dance around and fling your arms around and dance to the beat of the music. This song is not a song you can just jump around to or grind to haha. It's so much more complicated yet so simple and I really feel like her dancing reflects that.

Lorde is so different than the others singers, for that reason she is one of the best artist, I love her because she doesn’t follow the rules, she dances “weird”, but COME ON!, everyone should dance like her, it’s amazing see her. I mean, when I listen to Pure Heroine, or Melodrama, I feel alive and makes me dance like a crazy around my house tbh.
@sirtorgo71437 жыл бұрын
I think it's great she dances to what she feels and how can that be wrong? Yes I grew up in the sixties and seventies when there was a lot of chorographied music, Temptation, Four Tops, Spinners etc.., and that was great too. In my humble opinion dancing, no matter what style is great and if it is danced to great music it's even better.
@twoheadedbunnie696 жыл бұрын
i love her so much, she grew up so much. you can tell that back then she was a bit shy and kind of experimenting with her dancing during live performances but the way she dances at her shows now is so amazing, she just lets go and has so much fun with it. screw the people that made fun of her just for feeling the music.

So much emotion. Perfect song for a cathartic release, as a listener. She is full of magic and her eyes sparkle, for I can truly "see" her world and feel it as though I am the experiencer. It targets the same emotions for me that must have triggered her to write this song in the first place. Consistent reels of nostalgic scenes overlay my memory, and I am still having difficulty being this expected "adult" and still just as scared as when I turned 18. Time has let 16 years flee from me, and yet, somehow I still feel I am a child. We never do lose our "inner child," so we must heal that aspect of ourselves that hold us back and integrate it into this current human experience with as much love as you can possibly emit. Our minds will never stop playing these reels of nostalgia, but we can certainly adjust the frequency (emotion) that produces it.

It makes me wonder what extremely plain and boring music people must listen to in order to have what it takes in them to call this weird. Like seriously listen to one performance of artists like Grimes or SOPHIE and then tell me that you think that lorde is really weird. I mean honestly, if lorde was as weird as pop got, then we might as well take out the other two-thirds of the genre that isn't played in the top 100!

if Lorde was American she'd win all the grammy's just like Billie did, cause being that sophisticated, relatable, independent and mature writer as herself she would have dominated the music world (even much more than she did with PH and Melodrama). An American awards just cant let some NZ chick win all the stuff, which shows us one more time how much of influence and control USA has over the media in the world, choosing who is gonna be on the top of it. Good that Lorde doesn't care
@wanyekest6969
Жыл бұрын
I think the problem is that everyone has access to social media now, than compared to before. Not only that, but Lorde actually won her Grammy’s at a younger age than Billie Eilish, and whilst having more competition, especially when Melodrama was nominated with Kendrick Lamar, Gambino, Bruno Mars, Jay Z that year. I mean, there’s numerous factors, Lorde was really the first to the whole new alternative style (people weren’t entirely used to it yet like now) and introduced and inspired people like Eilish in the first place. Had Lorde broke out today or around when Billie was first getting out, I think she’d be even bigger, especially young audiences and all the access to social media and TikTok… iPhone’s and all that were still getting in back in 2012-2013

LORDE IS STILL HERE
I can’t imagine a crowd watching Lorde perform this song without being there specifically to see Lorde.
These old performances belong in a museum
Her dancing is odd but but with a voice like this Lorde rules my world
I so understand her dancing because when you're listening to this song the music takes over and it's all you're focused on and you just want to dance around and fling your arms around and dance to the beat of the music. This song is not a song you can just jump around to or grind to haha. It's so much more complicated yet so simple and I really feel like her dancing reflects that.
I want her back!

Yeah, when the camera panned out to the audience, it reminded me of the near-catatonic state of the audience in the “Car Radio” music video
This presentation of Lorde singing Ribs reminds me of the control, passion and performance that Freddie Mercury had in his live presentations. He always got lost in the melodies and he feels the music, the same thing as Lorde 🌟
I think it's great she dances to what she feels and how can that be wrong? Yes I grew up in the sixties and seventies when there was a lot of chorographied music, Temptation, Four Tops, Spinners etc.., and that was great too. In my humble opinion dancing, no matter what style is great and if it is danced to great music it's even better.
i love her so much, she grew up so much. you can tell that back then she was a bit shy and kind of experimenting with her dancing during live performances but the way she dances at her shows now is so amazing, she just lets go and has so much fun with it. screw the people that made fun of her just for feeling the music.
I remember by teen self would always watch this video. Missing that.

I’m turned 16 20 days ago I’ve been rewatching this since I was 14 it’s been my favorite song
I freaking love her voice. Love her dancing. Love her singing. Love everything about her. I LOVE HER
I remember hearing Royals for the first time in my dorm room when I was in college. it was a unique tune and her name intrigues me so I went to near computer shop and searched for her and this "Live On Letterman" performances was the first I saw of her sing. the way she sings, move, mannerism on stage, clothes, music style, and her dark looks is very unique. it was the first time I saw somebody like her. surreal moment.

The way she feels the music... she puts so much emotion into everything. I'm in love.
DAMN THAT VOICE
I’m so sorry the crowd was so dead her music is magical and she was lost in her performance and music as she should be I would’ve been dancing with her and living like she is
The people with their arms crossed... If I was watching Lorde live my arms would be all over the place!
One of the best performances I've ever seen! And the lyrics...❤
her dancing is just, ugh words cant describe it, iconic doesnt even come close. her freedom.
I get everything she does. She feels the music and it's like she's touching all the sounds she's hearing. I do this, too!
Lorde is art
I love how music and its emotions take all the control of her body. I feel like that when i listen to lorde, my body feels the need of moving like that and i let it go
The way that song still hitting me
So much emotion. Our minds will never stop playing these reels of nostalgia, but we can certainly adjust the frequency (emotion) that produces it.
the way she feels the song 😩
She feels the fuckin' music for every part of her bones
Thank you letterman thank you Lorde thank you CBS
It makes me wonder what extremely plain and boring music people must listen to in order to have what it takes in them to call this weird. Like seriously listen to one performance of artists like Grimes or SOPHIE and then tell me that you think that lorde is really weird. I mean honestly, if lorde was as weird as pop got, then we might as well take out the other two-thirds of the genre that isn't played in the top 100!

pfft what?! Visions was like album of the decade. And pitchfork selected Oblivion as literal song of the decade.
I WOULD BE DANCING MY HEART OUT AND LET MYSELF FEEL EVERY BEAT AND WORD AND JUST ENJOY IT BECAUSE LORDE IS PERFECTION
How are people staring at her with a straight fucking face............ I’d be in TEARS watching her perform this masterpiece live
I dance like that when I’m high af and listening to her music
I love her so much. She’s the greatest artist of our generation. I love that she doesn’t care that people don’t like her dancing, her true fans appreciate her and know it’s because she’s THAT connected to her music ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The crowd basically sums up 2020
thats when youn know music is spiritual it moves her yknow?
love you Lorde
you wish you were here 🖤
We can talk it good how you wish it would be all the time!!! Aye lordiee shorttieee!!
Beautiful ❤
she is awesome!seriously amazing
Crazy that it is 8 years old
I cannot believe there’s people in the crowd with arms folded 😔
we should all dance like her ♥
I love her so much LORDEEEEEEEE😭🙏🏻👑
This is what she is capable of when she stays in control of her voice.
Simply put, if you don't want critics don't be famous. That being said, she is an exceptional young woman
I love her so much
The beginning sounds of this song give me such an amazing feeling.
Люблю эту королеву душевной музыки! Эта тема всегда даёт смысл жить и энергию души. Каждая нота показывает какие эмоции вложены в эту песню и звук
She was 17 here holy moly she's too much
You are awesome, thank you Bella.
I really adore her so much.
This song is so amazing ^-^
if Lorde was American she'd win all the grammy's just like Billie did, cause being that sophisticated, relatable, independent and mature writer as herself she would have dominated the music world (even much more than she did with PH and Melodrama). An American awards just cant let some NZ chick win all the stuff, which shows us one more time how much of influence and control USA has over the media in the world, choosing who is gonna be on the top of it. Good that Lorde doesn't care

Had Lorde broke out today or around when Billie was first getting out, I think she’d be even bigger, especially young audiences and all the access to social media and TikTok… iPhone’s and all that were still getting in back in 2012-2013
This is absolutely spot-on.
Então é essa a música que não para de ser reproduzida pelo vizinho ao lado😮❤
I thought she was the worst dancer, after Elaine from Seinfeld, but seeing her live I know she is just lost in the music. If you can see her live ,do it as she is awesome . I knew one of her songs before my daughter took me to a concert but now I adore her music.
wish i could go back to when she released this album so i could appreciate it the way i do now 😩😩😩😩
I really love her style ♡👍
💖Praise The Lorde💖
I cry
I'm freakin' love with her voice😍
esta cancion quedara impresa en la historia
the audience did not deserve this performance.
I love you so much, Lorde. You are my inspiration.
She proved "weird is an art "
2013 was a dark time music like pure heroine or ultraviolence
Oct 2019 ☆♡
Man ....... where did she go!!!!!
