I'll try your suggestion, if I ever get suspiciously detained in the future, but I was trying to (verbally, sternly, but politely) hold a hot-headed badge-wearer accountable for undue harassment of a young coed ... most people would have done the same thing, but my skin was darker than most, so that probably worked against me I showed him my ID (which he checked closely) but when he tried to take it, I turned away and he threw the choke-hold on me ... luckily he'd dropped his stick and I resisted blacking out until his backup arrived The IA Officer released me soon after with a sincere apology, and subsequent termination of my assailant Two witnesses testified on my behalf right away, so it was filed as a false arrest ... I didn't sue, but have regretted not having done so in the years since, for so many others' sakes 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
