He can’t hide the fact he works out. It’s evident. 58 years old and still schooling men in basic exercises.

HW was "EXPLODING" with his push-ups. Super acceleration. Force = Mass x Acceleration. EXPLOSIVE POWER at 225 pounds of body weight. Anyone who is not impressed is either delusional or blind (or both).

@Fred Forbes I completely agree with your points. I remember MANY years ago reading an interview of the late great Walter Payton. He said the first thing to go with most professional athletes was not their body but their "mind"; the will to seriously train and compete. For ordinary mortals, we can still achieve impressive abilities and health. But as you say, one needs will and discipline. Same in all important aspects of life.

@Fred Forbes Hi Fred; so true! It is amazing what the mind can make the body do! Stay healthy and strong, my friend! It's a lifelong commitment.

@Fred Forbes That is REALLY impressive Fred! Your regimen sounds like Walker's. I'd love to train six days a week. I lift weights but my routines vary, and sometimes punctuated by breaks. When "training", ideally I lift three to four days a week but when time is limited just twice weekly I have three dogs that I walk most day - combined weight 240 pounds - so I NEED to lift! LOL!! Like you, I think it's in my blood; if I stop for too long, my mind and body rebel! I'm amazed by people who DON'T crave exercise. I lack your discipline with food, though I'm trying to improve. I do love some sweets. Do you have any training goals?

@Fred Forbes Fred, those are impressive numbers! Putting more than 200 pounds over your head is SERIOUS weight. I am older than you! 57. But undoubtedly like you, I feel much younger. I'm smaller than you - in the 160 pound area. I don't have any impressive lifts. Like you, I always wanted to avoid injury. An idea: when I train a bit, I can do a few reps with a little over 200 pounds on the bench press. The number one problem older (and younger people) have is what you said; JOINTS! Every serious bodybuilder and powerlifter can attest to that. Did you ever tune in (KZread) to Ric Drasin (sadly he just passed away)? He was a pretty serious bodybuilder back in the day at Venice Beach/Golds Gym with Arnold and Franco, etc. He said bad joints is the number one problem he and other older lifters have, and if he could do it over again, he NEVER would have lifted heavy. Of course, ego is a powerful thing, so I'm not sure he would have. But you are very wise, despite being so young! As Ed Coan, the greatest powerlifter of all time said. "If you lift SMART, you can last a LONG TIME." So we're on the right path! (I have three dogs; coon hound, pitbull, and a Kuvasz - a rare guardian livestock. They are definitely a handful and without lifting, I wouldn't be able to handle them).

Nose touches the floor would really exacerbate the situation😂. The correct form is arms tucked in or flared at most 45 degree angle from the body doing a beautiful eccentric slow motion with chest touching the floor... But HW uses explosive pushups to his advantage considering his body weight... moreover, he says he also does handstand Pushups... this is where his real power comes from... Amazing for his age... Truely impressive.....👍

Not 5000, 1500 is what he always said most of the time, but he never counted reps, Herscel said he always just went by the clock and estimated his total based on a 1 pushup per 1 sec cadence, so he would just do sets of push-ups during a full hour and added different hand positions
