LIVE! Jerry Hadley - Core n'grato - Cardillo

Музыка

1984 recital with his wife Cheryl Drake as the pianist. Thank you Kadoguy. Jerry Hadley (June 16, 1952 July 18, 2007) was a student of my teacher from 1978, after getting his masters degree in music from the University of Illinois in 1977. He then started teaching at the University of Connecticut. A 1993 article by Noël Goodwin in Opera magazine stated, "After 15 years Hadley still goes back to this Sicilian American (Dr. Thomas LoMonaco) who, he says, gave him confidence and secure knowledge of what he is doing with his voice at any given time, through teaching methods that are direct and physiological." Hadley also stated, "(I was) lucky above all else to have found a teacher in New York without whom I really doubt I could have really built the career I have." Here he displays wonderful balanced vocal registration and release of constriction which are the cornerstones of the technique that he learned and that I teach.

You can really feel his pain through this song. I can't imagine what he must've been going through to take his own life. This marvelous singer will always be remembered

This is just fabulous. I sang with him and this catches him at his very best. Cheryl played this marvelously. He suggested I Tom too and he came to my lesson to hear me sing. That is the quality of this man. Full of life, and what a passionate singer. Listening to this should thrill anyone with ears and a heart. Let us let him rest. We need not repeat the sad tail. Rejoice in the life of a person...that is what lives on after anyway.

My eyes are still rolling 33 years after he sang Nadir at City Op. I thought no one would ever top Alain Vanzo's performances, and Jerry equaled and even surpassed Vanzo in the strength of his voice and amazing dynamic control.

I heard him sing this live at the Mario Lanza memorial ball in Philadelphia in the mid-1990's. It was a big beautiful voice. He had changed how he sang "pienze" from this recording; he sang it more open on an "ahh" vowel. Gorgeous.

joy to know he also has big voice, it sounds so open lyrical, cannot tell from recording only. Thank you. He is rare to find, what a proud of American tenor!

He did so most likely because it is easier to sing it this way rather than on an open a vowel. Picking the right style according to the voice's condition in any given moment is one more sign of his intelligence as a singer.

@@mariofilippeschi4855 So true. He struggled with many teachers, but a constant desire to be the finest. "... opera houses assign singers according to their looks..." how sad he was of the operatic world. Great thing is that Jerry did not see the Kaufmann and JDF on Met stage... that is offensive.

What a poignant performance of this tragic aria. I just learned he placed an air rifle to his head and shot. The pain of the singer must have been severe. How tragic.

Ungrateful Heart Catarì, Catarì Why do you say these bitter words to me? Why do you speak and my heart torments me, Catarì? Don't forget that I've given you my heart, Catarì Don't forget it! Catarì, Catarì, what do you mean by these words, that upset me? You don't think about my pain You don't think! You don't care! Heart, ungrateful heart You've stolen my life Everything's over And you don't think about it anymore! Catarì, Catarì, you don't know that I even went to church I entered and prayed to God, Catarì, and even said to the confessor, "I'm suffering for that one there!" I'm suffering, I'm suffering, you can't believe how I'm suffering all the tortures... And the Confessor who is holy person, said, " My son, leave her alone, let her be" Heart, ungrateful heart You've stolen my life Everything's over And you don't think about "us" anymore ! Core 'ngrato Catarì, Catarì, Pecchè me dice sti parole amare, Pecchè me parle e 'o core Me turmiente Catari? Nun te scurdà ca t'aggio date 'o core, Catarì Nun te scurdà! Catarì, Catarì, che vene a dicere Stu parlà, che me dà spaseme? Tu nun 'nce pienze a stu dulore mio Tu nun 'nce pienze tu nun te ne cure Core, core 'ngrato T'aie pigliato 'a vita mia Tutt' è passato E nun 'nce pienze cchiù ! Catarì, Catarì, Tu nun 'o saie ca 'nfin 'int'a 'na chiesa Io so' trasuto e aggio priato a Dio, Catarì E l'aggio ditto pure a 'o cunfessore: I' sto a suffrì Pe' chella llà! Sto a suffrì, Sto a suffrì, nun se po' credere, Sto a suffrì tutte li strazie! E 'o cunfessore ch'è persona santa, M'ha ditto: Figlio mio, lassala sta', lassala sta' Core, core 'ngrato T' aie pigliato 'a vita mia Tutt' è passato E nun 'nce pienze cchiù ! lyricstranslate.com/nl/core-ngrato-ungrateful-heart.html
