I think your first thought was correct.
Probably one of the hardest songs to cover and do it justice. Well done. Great to see Judy taking part.
NFF not telling people who performed this in the title makes this one of the greatest hidden gems on KZread.
Watched this with tears in my eyes and sobbing at times…..my music, my era..LOVE IT

Yeah, Me Too!!
This is my all time favorite song and has been for 50 years.
Love to hear great, 3-part harmonies, the highlight of this song. Great to see Judy Collins on stage, the inspiration for this song. CSN (&Y) forever!
i watch this everyday. i wish this was a real super group!

Same haha, I keep coming back to this video over and over. Robin is just awesome. But so are Eric and James 👍👍 super group indeed
Robin, we’re not worthy!!! 🙌🏻
Ballsy song to cover -- and you covered it well. A tribute to the masters with your own spin on it. Very well done. Congrats.

Really tough to cover because those voices from the masters are etched in memory. It's very well done.
Man, this was so great! I watched every second with tears streaming down my cheeks, this is a triumphant tribute! Seeing the people of all ages in the crowd singing along was just what I needed today! What a beautiful testament to the enduring value of a great song!!!! 💗

Suite Judy was the first song I heard played at a folk festival in 1972, the great Philly Folk Fest! I was just 12 years old and recognized the song immediately from the radio. It was being played in the campground by festival goers who would jam well into the nite. Long live the sing-along, the chorus of souls, the light of shared, live music!

Yes indeed , gives me a nostalgic kind of sad almost yet uplifting feeling …Gives me the feelings anyway , great song
Once again, i just played this about 5 times in a row. How amazing a song can light something inside you that wants it's flame fueled over and over again..This version is the fuel. Rock on!❤
My heart and spirit flies high when I watch this. Thank you, thank you, thank you guys and JUDY!
Fantastic. This song isn't an easy one to do well.
Oh Robin, the way he closes his eyes while singing! I love this man!
ive been watching this video every day for the last three days for the serotonin alone :) but this is the first time ive noticed its janet freakin weiss on that tambourine and those drums
Great version. The bassplayer is the anchor for everyone here.. he’s really good!

Wish I was at this festival. Fantastic fan appreciation-participation. Pretty darn good cover of this Classic CSN song. Whenever you hear this song the studio version is in your head. CSN live comes up short to the master. Best ever cover of this song is by Foxes & Fossils recorded 9 years ago. Give it a listen and hear the CSN like harmonies. Beautiful. To have Judy herself there, priceless. Newport FF is now on my bucket list.

Why trot Judy Collins out there just to trash Steven Stills? She never wrote a song half as good as this one.

I was considering mentioning Foxes and Fossils too, but didn't know if it would be appropriate here. I agree though, their cover of this song was absolutely brilliant. The instrumentation and harmonies were spot on.

I disagree. The live version on the Woodstock soundtrack is absolutely fabulous! One of my all-time favorites.
This was right after my friend, who had stated the day before that this was her favorite song, left to hit the road. I still haven't told her what she missed.
Sweet Robin❤❤

Well done…. Excellent rendition, in such a beautiful spot. Go NPJF. I hope toe come some day.
Wow! Thank you for sharing! If there is a better “cover” of this I’d be amazed. Imagine the passion that Stills felt and expressed in this. Collin’s presence is indicative.Just beautiful.
What a great cover! And Judy's comment at the end was classic. I saw Judy and Stephen perform together at Tanglewood a short time ago and they did a short version of the song together with some wonderful reminiscing about the past.
fully in tears. wowowowowowow this was incredible
I love this festival
That was actually fantastic. CSN is so hard to do
I keep coming back to this version again and again and again.
That was seriously amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wonder if Stephen Stills ever thought his song would ever be so popular . How does Judy Collins feel about the song ? WOW! I can't believe I asked this question just before she walked on stage ! I didn't have any idea that she was going to appear on this stage ! That is weird ! A Twilight Zone type of thing !
This is my dream band! What an amazing group!
I can never get enough of this song. This is a great performance and with Judy there…wow…wow!! The Shadow Boxers cover is another one to watch!!!
They did a great job covering this
Wonder how many thousands of folks were there having Fun!!😍🥰 Hope it happens again next year!!!
Oh, wow this takes me back.
How am I just learning that this happened? This is un-Fucking-real
Let only music rule the world fans, let it sound just this good, the track is just puuuurrfect, you are doing a great job guys
Good lord what a moment.
What a moment to capture. I saw a fan shot video of this. So glad there is a pro-shot video now. I wish I could watch the entire festival.
Best pun in Rock&Roll!
Love, Love,Love!!!!
One of the most beautiful videos I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much.
This was such an incredible set of music! I feel so lucky to have been there. Excited to hopefully hear more....?
So brilliant! 🇦🇺👏👏👏
Dancing with the Gods...
loved this. then saw JUDY, loved it more!
This is FANTASTIC!!!!!!
Aww, this is one of my fave CSNY songs!!
Check out Foxes and Fossils cover of this great song ,the girls are 15 n 16. with 3M views
I got goosebump, then cried.
What the actual hell? Judy came out??? I only hope those lucky enough knew what they where witnessing
Great version. Watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 😊
OMG...wonderful!!! What a surprise to see Judy herself.
Noticed Benmon Tench on the keys. Almost fell over when Judy came out.
My favorite song from my favorite supergroup performed by my favorite frontmen. Fire!
Sooo good!
Robin Is the best
Excellent!!
one of the best colaboration shows
You know it's an absolute killer band when Jason Isbell is playing lead guitar and only gets about 1.5 seconds of screen time.
This was awesome to hear live again but nothing will ever top CSN in concert in 1971 Mpls!! And there’s Judy Collins! YaY!!
Amazing!!!
One of the best covers!
Wow, just wow
The best
Wow!
Wow
CSN’s legacy is in safe hands.
Is that Judy?
Nice job! Check out the Foxes and Fossils version. It’s excellent!

Absolutely, they really nail the harmonies better than here, this version a bit more expansive instrumentally perhaps .
Now THIS is homework-! What great students! It's heartening to see so much of the audience singing along. But still... so many folks concentrating on their little bitty screens instead of enjoying the whole spectacle, as if the world is justly confined to a few inches.
Holy background vocals, Batman.
RIP David
❤❤❤❤🤗

Benmont!!!!
Fucking amazing and beautiful♥️
Mini shins reunion!
Is there a little book for the lyrics so people can sing along? Aha
ha ha ha... proof it was really great
don’t know whether to say robin is cage gripping the hell out of that guitar or the mic
Yeah. wonder how Bob feels about all this Rock at Newport….
Nice, but not up to the Foxes and Fossils standard. Also live, but at a pizza joint. Check it out (they did not have Judy Collins though).
This is a valiant effort, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the other guys . . .
damn, you were all over this s**t Jason Isbell!
And Judy was there - far out
I guess it's OK to use electric at the Newport Folk Festival these days!?! My, the times, they are a-changin'! Little disappointed that nobody even attempted a guitar solo. But it's very cool that Judy blue eyes herself made an appearance; wish the composer could have been there to play the guitar solo. Decent cover, though.

Yeah not too big with the electric sound in folks songs but it’s starting to grow on me if they do it right
Who is singing the lead vocal??
I hope she is alive and doing well.

Lmao, you didn’t even delete your original comment
It’s hard to compare with CSNY' version which is perfect....it’s just audible..
Jason: So....uhhh....want me to sing....anything? Oh, wait, Judy Collins is coming up? Ugh, fine. I'll pick backup guitar....
For Christ's sake, make us watch commercials at the beginning, no problem, but don't cut in to the performances!
Push Government aside and be FREE.
Nice attempt.
