Great session with lots of useful information, thanks a lot. Regarding the white balance in the shots with the polar bear, there is an easy fix for that. Just ask the bear to hold a grey card during the shot 😂😉

Hello Paul, convinced that you are one of the few instructors to explain things clearly and concisely as much as possible, there is one thing I would like you to do to solve a problem that still exists and is not satisfactorily explained: HALO ELIMINATION in C1. Eternal thanks!

Thanks! Check out our Clarity guide - you can't really "solve" halo'ing, other than not causing it in the first place ;-) kzread.info/dash/bejne/l46qmcOOirrQhJs.html

@@Paulreiffer Thank you, your Clarity Guide has in some ways been a source of new insights into C1 matters. It explicitly explains your claim: "You can't really "solve" halo effects other than not causing them in the first place." By "not causing it..." you obviously meant "by not overusing the C1 sliders", whereas I understood "by avoiding halos in the original camera shot". Which is sometimes just impossible. However, my question was how to eliminate or weaken existing halos of the original recording in high-contrast zones. E.g. fixing by using (luminosity) masks (which is mentioned in some tutorials but not sufficiently explained, as difficult as it is)

Hi Paul and everyone who reads this comment! thanks a lot for the problems which are here Paul , so clearly and like every time explained in a brillant way. yes for a bigger crop in the mountain, i did exactly at the beginning, like the man who took the picture ( excuse for the name ) i avoid now to resize so shoortly an image. but i confess it was one of my first mistakes. ! Perhaps it may help the others to confess that ! For the snow i use now to bring down a litte the white of the snow to recover some details in it. because if you let it like that there is only a white colour and no material to see. But Vincent Munier, a wildlife photographer ( well known in France) in his book of artic , some times, uses an outblow of the snow to bring of course the animal more in the forground! again a question of choise !thank you for all Paul!
