Very informative session and a lot has been unpacked. Been a C1 user for many years and this session has brought clarity, and many tips and tricks. Thank you.

Hi Paul: Another wonderful session! I can certainly see the importance of working the white-balance in an image early in the process. I haven't given this area of processing enough attention in the past. I'll try to attend in real-time next month. Thanks, Keith (Canada)

This is a big day for me. I’ve been watching since the beginning and I finally understand the sharpening tool!

Hi Paul and everyone who reads my comment ! Always interesting to see the choices which are made by different people to transform slightly a colour in another one ! Paul, i wanted just here to speak about hte different Apps and programs we need to work on a photo! i agree completely with the fact that a raw editor is not a pixel editor, so we cant of course make things in capture one which are now so wonderful well done in photoshop for instance. ( to delete a disturbing thing on a foto) , We can't of course want that an editor is able to repair a car and at the same time is able to make the cooking , i exagerate completely! 😂😂. But at the same time, i hear some fotografs in France who really defend the fact ,to by a sony r5 because it is good, to by the z9 because the colours of nikon are better, at the same time to get of course the z8 because its not so heavy, and to by also the fuji because it looks good in your gear( of course with all the different lenses ! !) , OHHHHH yess but personnaly i am not able to by all those things, because i am not rich enough and perhaps, if i had the money i really would use it for another thing! So yes ,i have also a suscription for photoshop because they are so good to remove, some disturbing things you coud not avoid by taking your pictures. So i have a suscription to capture one and photoshop, and that's it! i don't want to get topaz to sharpen, DxO to reduce the noise and,, etccc. I hope for instance that capture one coud be at the level of DXO to reduce the noise!!🙏. its not a fact of staying religiously in one editor! its also a question of money and time, and if you can sharpen in capture one and reduce the noise in the same editor , i find it very handy ! Or is it the only a duty of a pixel editor ???🤔🤔🤔🤔?? I am afraid that lightroom ,also a raw editor, is now saddly better than capture one, in sharpening and noise recuction ! 😭😭 the last picture was wonderful ! thank you for having beeing patient to read me until there !

Oh, out of choice, I'd love Capture One to get its noise reduction up to speed - and once it is, I dare say it'll be one less external application people turn to...!

Hi Paul, thanks for the teaching session. I just purchased Topaz to sharpen when needed. I think it works pretty well. Still learning.

great tool tips Paul, thanks. Btw. That colour cast of Lofoten could come from ND filter as it was a long exposure.

Could well be - Lee has a blue/green tendency (hence the tint slider to correct for it 👍)

Some images are worth throwing away... The wolf photo is a throw away. Just remember the moment.....

As to the question of ethics and intentionally manipulating an image for effect... If we were painters, would anyone would question the colors, composition, techniques, that we use to create an image, as well as the content; what we leave in or leave out? Or would it only be judged by the experience of the person viewing it, and NOT by the method used to create it or its fidelity to the original scene? I think it's a matter of intent, and some confuse the purpose of photography for journalists, scientists, archivists, etc. to record the reality of a scene or object at a moment in time as accurately as possible, with that for which photography is simply a medium for their artistic expression.

“Always clone your stuff, then you can go back to it”. If Capture One would give us a history panel, we would not have to clutter up our catalogues with clones.

Don’t disagree - BUT I would still recommend branching off so you have different options to compare later

I prefer to have cloned variants than a history panel for a quicker visual comparative.
