    Great information. Have you notice more Shrinkage of one hand-dyed fabric brand over another? Each side is different, so then there is no front or back of the fabric, just choose the mottling you like to use it? I like many brands of hand-dyed. I use Best Press spray before stitching on Linen especially.

    Thank you for this very informative video, I purchased Susan Ache's book "Summer Memories" through FQS for the quilt along. I noticed the cross-stitch patterns in the book, I am going to try cross-stitch, the patterns are adorable.

    I’ve cross stitched for many years, most of the time on 32 count Belfast linen. I love the feel of linen when stitching. As I’ve gotten older, it’s been harder and harder to see the holes in the linen. I use a light up magnifying glass floor lamp, and that helps. Now it’s just easier to stitch on 14 count Aida.

    Great linen explanation. I'm newly returned to cross stitch and had never stitched on linen. But it was the perfect fabric for my project so I gave 32ct a try. I had to get a magnifying lamp to see it well enough, but the results are beautiful.

    I’m coming back to cross stitch after being away about 20 years. I don’t recall hearing 1 over 2 or 2 over 2 back then but I feel like I’m hearing it quite a lot now. When these terms are used, it only refers to using linen fabric, correct? I just want to be sure I understand. Thanks!

  • @FatQuarterShopFlossTube

    @FatQuarterShopFlossTube

    7 ай бұрын

    Hello Gigi! It typically refers to fabrics that are a higher count like 25 or higher because the holes in the fabric are smaller and closer together.
