We were all noticeably surprised, and Andy was like, "hey what's happening guys, thanks for coming to check out the show..." Wow, I'd absolutely love to have an encounter like that. One of the pedals high up on my list that I REALLY would like to get and use is the keeley Andy Timmons Halo pedal. I really feel it would fit my own style and sound very very well. It'll likely end up being the exact delay pedal that I've been looking for to add flavor to the main heart and soul of my own sound and what I like to play. That said mainly I'm wanting to build a very special pedal board that will do both hendrix and srv style tones and stuff(clyde mccoy wah, benson temp controlled germanium fuzz, a pedal pawn gypsy vibe v2, an older dunlop octavio/octavia lol(rip jimi), an ibanez ts9 tube screamer, a pedal pawn texan twang drive, and finally a legit vintage Leslie pedal like bonamassa uses). And maybe at some point throw a keeley darkside v2 back in there, I owned one but sold it regrettably.

SRV's version as an extension off the original is much better. Just as delicate. That Hendrix didn't 'finish' it left a lot up to the imagination of those who'd add to it. Versions by Hiram Bullock, Stanley Jordan and others...

I didn't know these two great players, I will certainly look up more of what they have done. HOWEVER - they don't bring anything new to this masterpiece. It's a first-class performance, but any guitarist playing this is going to be compared to the original master. Clapton did a great version with the Dominoes, but the original rules!
@EricCPOP3 жыл бұрын
Not a bad interpretation of the song. I loved how they did their own interpretation of the song rather than making it a carbon copy. Good cover but SRV is King of this song as much as Jimi was the pioneer of this song SRV added to it and gave it life. I'd think that most people who cover Little Wing are emulating SRV emulating Jimi rather than just the latter.

??? This is completely different from Hendrix version. It’s 6 minutes longer. Way more notes. Click bait. This is all right. Stevie Ray Vaughan's cover version is far and away truly the most amazing cover. This isn't even in SRV's league. I admire that SRV did an instrumental version. It's hard for anyone to sing it as well as Jimi did, as is very evident here. Stevie only needed himself to own this song. Even with two guitars here? Not even close. Nice try guys. Not the most amazing. The backing band isn't even in Double Trouble's league either.

Holy Shit!!! Most of the time the videos with headers saying "best version" or something to that effect usually suck. But, in this case header says "most amazing version" and it's all but an understatement. The virtuosity of Andy Timmons is breathtaking. And, the segment from about 4:19-5:02 come on now you're just showing off lol Fucking awesome. What a treat thank you Brad Thornton for posting.
This was a very special performance. Bravo! Steve Lukather covers this justly.
Well shes walking through the clouds With a circus mind thats running round butterflies and zebras And moonbeams and fairy tales Thats all she ever thinks about Riding with the wind. When Im sad, she comes to me With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free Its alright she says its alright Take anything you want from me, anything Anything. (you are doing fine, keep it up) Fly on little wing, Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing

What a creative, sweet and poetic mind Jimi had....
I love Phil X , But between his band and this one, I haven't heard so many people Butcher Jimi's song "Little Wing" in my life. If you want to hear a GREAT RENDITION of it...Go Listen to Steve Vai...Live at Astoria London and listen to something that would have made the hair on Jimi's arms stand up and gave him the chills , as it did me..
Wow that’s it
Please check the king of harmonic Fingerstyle Alip Ba Ta like bohemian rhapsody, numb, californiacation, far from home, another day, little wings, burried alive, the godfather, still got the blues ect
Jimmy was so proud...
Nice job felloas!
Not the greatest singer yet one of the best guitar players.

I've heard him sing better covering this same track. I think he was having an off night. Mind you, he's not a great singer. But he's more competent than he sounds here.

And he's very humble about that, self-deprecating quite a bit about his own singing. Similar to how Eric Johnson talks about his own singing during his concerts. His competency is through the roof.

Andy’s singing wasn’t bad.... but one does not go to hear Andy sing... you go to hear him play...of which he is one of the finest electric guitar players on the planet.... ever!

When I was a kid I thought Derek and the Dominoes wrote this.....Layla album !!!!
The chromatic stuff was unexpected. I like surprises. That’s always good. Btw Danger Danger? Hahahaha

I don't know why but I heard Steve Morse's sound clearly
Pity that the sound is so poor, that’s the problem with this sort of recording. I’m sure it was a great experience live.

I have heard Jeff Beck doing this, great. And how about Derek and the Dominos on the Layla album ?
Try Monte Montgomery's version.

Agreed, once u listen to srv version it will stuck and never leave your brain.. To me SRV is untouchable, the rest just follow
For me, a bit overdone with the Leslie effect... Fine rendition.. good love..
So much boring boomerism in this comment section dear god.
Funny how he sings the wrong lyrics so confidently.
Hendrix did the most amazing version, nothing unique about this version other than piano.

??? This is completely different from Hendrix version. It’s 6 minutes longer. Way more notes. It’s even longer then Stevie ray vaughns version, from a guitarists standpoint, Stevie ray Vaughn literally OWNS that song. Hendrix sang some lyrics and killed it in his own way. Andy is doing the same thing here, acknowledging the greats while making it his own
Not even close to Jeff Becks version or Jimis original
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
That piano solo was completely unnecessary. IIt didn’t add to the performance,

jajaja que paja escuchar esto, se levanta jimi de la tumba y les pega un tiro en la cabeza a cada uno. destruyeron el tema da asco.
Most amazing? They’re good, but you can’t beat the original. Then there’s SRV. Cmon? There’s a lack of soul. But it was good, just not the best!
The backing band isn't even in Double Trouble's league either.

no en bano jimi hendrix es y va a seguir siendo el mejor del mundo, da asco verdaderamente esta version, tendrian que sacarla de youtube. 🤮🤢
Good version. Most amazing? Huumm... Not sure at all!!! There is the Hendrix one, the first and the most beautyful. And there is the SRV one, the Clapton one, the Monte Montgomery one, ...
Not Amazing ..... Very sloppy and messy. He screwed up the lyrics right outta the gate.
I love AT - but this is painful.. Hendrix version wees all over this mess
Can't sing....now that's a problem
Great playing, but Stevie Ray Vaughan owns this song.
Horrible vocals.... that said.... great guitar work!
Andy is a god, but he should not sing.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is way way better, absolutely no contest.
Note to channel owner: NEVER put "most amazing version" for any piece of music. Its subjective, and not your job to tell others whats great, let them enjoy and decide for themselves. Very much over the "most amazing" tag being overused every 30 seconds on youtube. It needs to die.....
