She raps "I don't need drums to follow the rhythm" and throughout the song, she's offbeat(in a beautiful way). It's so nice to see when the artist's lyrics match the instrumentals as seen in bands like Radiohead too. I'm looking forward to what Little Simz has in store for us in the future!

I didn't even notice but you're right. She isn't riding the beat, she's letting the beat ride on her voice instead. That takes finesse to sound so effortless

This album is extremely good. Not to be disrespectful but I didn't know a UK artist could be so... soulful. This simultaneously reminds me of early Kanye, J Dilla, Neo Soul like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Deangelo etc.... this entire record is so beautiful I wanna cry
