Artists in general are usually very disturbed in my experience, creativity often comes with trauma. As far as I’ve seen

when i was a kid i’ve almost drowned, but when i was under water and running out of breath my child eyes could only think of how beautiful that pool was.

Drowning isn't like what the movies would have you believe, asphyxiating on water and suffocating to death. It's been described as peaceful. Which to me is incredibly disturbing... makes you think what goes on in the mind at the last second.

I remember my mom let her ex boyfriend toss me into the pool when i was small, knowing I couldn't swim. I sunk to the bottom, and all i could think was "this is it" and looked towards the surface and the sun shone thru the top of the rippled water like tons of crystals. When he got me out my mom n him said I was overreacting.

Kind of reminds me of someone dying in the hospital, the slow sinking, long creatures, and beeps are like inching closer to death and being surrounded by various loud machines and tubes. The patient is being pumped full of pain killers and is probably fadeing in an out of continuousness and bouncing between feeling like everything is alright and seeing the truth in intese moments of pain. Anyways, loved the video

The bottom of the ocean is inherently alien and devoid of light - but nothing in nature is sinister. Whale Falls are a continuation of Life.

You don't understand how much I love this short. I'm a big fan of creative monster design and this guy just hits the spot so well. The happy scenes, showing how it keeps its prey calm and at the same time giving us as the viewer such a great contrast to what's actually happening, it's brilliant. Doesn't even need to be longer, all necessary information is contained in those few seconds. Simply amazing!

There may not be a story, but I imagine it this way: There has been missing persons reports after the report of the disappearance of a schoolgirl who was playing on the beach with her friends. A detective, interested in the case, travels from his native country to the island where the disappearances occur, looking for who is guilty of these actions...without knowing that the reason for all these events...is the same ocean.

TLDR: Dumb merkid (me) was drowning. This is actually what it felt like to me!!! I was a kid and was CONVINCED I could now breathe underwater and became a mermaid! I kept trying to 'breathe' underwater for YEARS. HA! Take THAT natural selection, I'M STILL HERE!
