Little Moscow : Sunny Isles Beach, Florida Walk in June 2022

Ойын-сауық

Sunny Isles Beach is a city in South Florida with the 14th tallest skyline in the United States. It is also commonly referred to as Little Moscow just due to the large numbers of Eastern Europeans who live there. It is home to the Newport Fishing pier and a short drive away from Miami Beach and the Aventura Shopping Mall.

hey AK, ur content is rlly good and i always like watching it whenever i feel bored or stressed out, it relaxes me. :) btw i have a suggestion, go to Little Santo Domingo (Appalattah) and walk around there or film, its not much but its more walkable and has a cozy feel although it may seem a bit run down. just a suggestion!

I grew up in Miami until finishing residency, and then moving to NYC 11 years ago; I took for granted the simple things like the hot sunny weather, beaches, and even those random sweet messages often seen in the sky. I’m thankful at the time I enjoyed them; but having lived in NYC for so many years-it’s really all hype here in NY. The Ft. Lauderdale- Miami metropolitan area is the best of the eastern United States. Can’t wait to move back 😎

@@Notpublic4719 that’s my hometown!! The Spanish is nothing new. What’s new are the “Little Moscow,” and the “China Town.” In 2009/2010 they were creating “Midtown,” and us locals were like hmm okay, this is sounding very NY. But yes, visiting family throughout the months over the years, I’ve noticed huge changes. Definitely more cultural groups moved there, which I think is great for SE Florida bc it shows there’s plenty of space of all of us immigrants 😉. I remember the old Design District, and when the immigration building was on 79th Street-if you know you know.

@@Notpublic4719 it’s sad the city has gotten so expensive bc FL doesn’t pay our high NYC wages. I know ppl who echo your exact sentiments. Sorry bc Miami is a beautiful place; and I know if your not in a certain career-certain groups will push you out if don’t speak their language. I’m Ashkenazi and Jamaican, and I speak Spanish, Hebrew, English. But I know the real Miami, it’s very class oriented and it can be a place where many ppl can feel alienated whereas in NYC no one gives a F’ where you come from, no one group dominates. However, NYC is a nightmare.

Little Moscow? No wonder Trump built there. Sunny Isles Beach completely lacks the walkability of nearly everything to the south of it. AIA is a huge stroad strewn with auto dependent restaurants, shops and services. While people do walk across AIA from the giant towers, It's certainly not a pleasant or pedestrian oriented experience. When one thinks that this is the same road as Collins Ave. in South Beach, there's a substantial experience difference.

@UCAFL5yGkXLPDQ81dh8uHhIw you would be absolutely incorrect in your assumption about me. I am 100% ethnically Eastern European DNA. My comments about the built environment stand independent of whoever might live there. It's not a good environment for pedestrians.

massive highway like road running through the center of the city and everything is so auto centric. atleast in new york you could walk to your delis and cafes, in "little moscow" which looks more latino than russian, you have to cross a 6-lane stroad just to get to a small cafe.
