Honestly the cap is never gonna break apart like a blade will. Maybe the bolt would break but I doubt it. And as far as the nuts loosening, youd be able to tell as soon as it happened because it would very wobbly and unable to use. Definitely not safe, but I qouldnt call it safer than a standard blade, I've seen those things break off and get stuck in peoples face protectors

To lessen the likelyhood of having an aluminum fragment in your eye, throat or sever an artery or vein firstly, wear safety glasses. Measure the flattened caps diameter and half it for the radius and drill in the center to prevent those vibrations that will prematurely wear out the carbon dampeners and motor. That lopsided imbalance is that cap trying to fly off.

@@phantommedia9964 its not terribly hard to fix a drill that you find in the trash or at a yard sale for cheap or free. Cut off wheels wear out quickly and one can go through them quickly. Anyways my point is it's not difficult to get a drill and have it working for years. Infact my own drill cost me like $20 and I have had it for over 15 years. Compared to how much I have spent on cutting disks I definitely spent hundreds of dollars on them over the years.

Not for nothing; it would help to have a simple jig to get the hole in the center, and removing the messy burrs before adding the bolt/nut to secure would allow it to sit perpendicular to the rotation. Lastly, thin pvc like that can be cut using a simple exacto knife, without the radius over cut. Just my 2 cents.
