    Interesting film Eddie, all the mink I have seen here are a dark chocolate brown color with a white throat patch. I see the toad got a pass 😂

    Yes I've noticed that most over there are brown. Think maybe Canada or Alaska have mostly black. If we were to get a light brown one here, we'd probably get it mounted

    Cheers man. Only got two mink this year, on two rivers. Gonna give them a rest for a few years. Maybe try some other rivers, but would have to travel further

    @@minktrappingpaddy 2 more than I have got Eddie. Been so busy with other things as you know and work getting busier again, will be heading away overseas again in May so I won't get trapping this year by the looks of it.

    No not my voice lol. The video is narrated by a British man. Very different accent, than the Irish accent

    An interesting show Eddie. I never saw a mink to climb. I don't think the presenter ever had his poultry wiped out by a mink though 🤔🤔

    No, that's for sure Vinnie. Think he used to narate several wildlife programs at that time. I remember seeing the next episode about stoats which was very good. Didn't record it unfortunately.

    Invasive American mink in the UK during the 1980s was around 110,000, but now that our river otters (now protected) are starting to reclaim the British waterways once again, it seems that they are now displacing the invasive American mink from our rivers. Recent figures estimate that mink numbers could now be as low as 40,000.

    Here is a strange one. Here in Ireland, the otter population was always healthy. At the same time, mink numbers were high. Now all of a sudden, mink numbers have dropped significantly. Maybe the huge increase in pine marten numbers the last few years? Maybe some other factor?

    No market for mink here James. Most of our winters are very mild, and fur doesn't prime very well. We have had some good cold winters though, and I've had some good coats on mink those winters.

    @@jamesoutdoors6380 Where abouts are you James? Yes, you need a cage with good strong mesh in it. Mink are strong for their size.

    @@jamesoutdoors6380 Yes, I have those. They work well, but very light. I've had stuff bend the doors open in the past.     Some escaped, and others deliberately released by people who viewed farming of mink to be a cruel practice.
