Jimmy was so genuine, and down to earth. His heart was the biggest thing about him.

Been an admirer of the late Mr Dickens my entire 56 years. I grew up on a holstein dairy farm and the folks he talks about sound just like my Aunt Pearl and Uncle Bill.

I had a chance to do a Grand Ole Opry show with Little Jimmy! I am only about 5'4" and standing next to Jimmy I felt like a giant! Loved hearing him sing with his jumbo guitar! Truly a legend in country music! So talented but yet so humble.

I agree, he was a huge man on the inside where it counts. He absolutely loved country music and the Grand Ole Opry.

Besides his fame on The Opry, Little Jimmy was friends with Hank Williams and Hank wrote “Hey Good Lookin” for Dickens but he recorded it for himself. Little Jimmy also discovered Marty Robbins, and Dickens was the first to wear the Nudie Suit on The Grand Ol Opry. Not bad for a country boy from Bolt.

Big man my foot...he came to Texas in 1972 to help a small community raise money for a Volunteer Fire Department that was forming... The gym filled up with a huge crowd to see him perform. He and his people collected the money and left the scene without dropping a dime. He's big alright!
