Now ANC faces real challenge of losing power to a DA coalition or being forced into a power sharing agreement on a weak foot. People like Mbeki who dedicated best part of their lives in the struggle cannot stomach liberation parties losing power because it would mean their life work ended in failure. They see themselves as having righteous mandate to deliver and therefore divine right to rule and or misrule.

Despite spending years studying in Britain, he was unable to comprehend that the country's economy was not built on ethical business practices but rather on the exploitation of African resources. They persuaded him that we ought to heed their advice. He recently chastised ANC officials for their behaviour, and he is now campaigning for same people he criticised. He has demonstrated to me his lack of morality and he is going to deceive them again. They are going to see him after five years campaigning again. Township communities are little more than a political tool for him to acquire power and influence for his party, and he is taking them for granted.

He is the only Black President who grew the economy when he took over from the previous president. The next President after him ruined everything up to a stage where we are now. Those who came after him had a chance to change whatever he proposed.

It’s not rocket science. Ramaphosa, Mbeki are low energy, they are not rabble rousers. In terms of winning elections, Mbeki was the most successful ANC leader, he is the only President who increased vote share in each general election. That said the ship has long sailed. Even with all his electoral victories and perceived good stewardship of the economy, relatively good governance his comrades rejected him in Polokwane for a dancing & laughing reveler. The people that Mbeki can appeal to are cerebral & they are a shrinking minority & they are unlikely to be bamboozled by his change of tune.
